I'll be flying out to Quebec for a week for a friend's wedding, and I was hoping to get some info from you guys. I heard that ecigs have now been banned in Canada (I'm truly sorry to hear that), and I was wondering about transporting ecigs and juices when traveling. Will my stuff get confiscated at the airport (security or customs)? If there's any risk of my PVs getting confiscated, then I'll just leave my mods at home and buy some cheap starter kit to hold me down while I'm there. Can you even vape in public without getting in trouble? I'm just hoping to know what to expect while I'm there.

I vape in public all the time. As far as I know, the Health Canada issue concerns suppliers of ejuice containing nicotine, and is not focused on consumers.

Since a great majority of the public doesn't even know what e-cigarettes are, I'd be more concerned about a police officer approaching you to question you about your use of drug paraphernalia (I'm always paranoid about this.. I think my eGo looks like a bit like a crack pipe :)) than approaching you because he/she recognized what you are using as an e-cigarette.

The ban is directed toward vendors and importers of the stuff, and not to users. Your stuff will be fine, but make sure you don't carry too much liquid in your carry on bag...might as well keep the majority of your stuff in checked baggage anyway. They're not arresting us just yet for vaping, thank goodness.

Like anywhere, don't vape in public places where you can't smoke, and you'll be golden.

They aren't banned. The nicotine juice just hasn't been given market authorization for sale and import. Nothing they can do about personal use... Moreover, the actual hardware is fine to sell and import, provided no health claims are made.

They just like to say "e-cigs" instead of "ejuice with nic," but when you get down to it it's a bit more complex than that.

Anyways, you'll be fine.

Wrong. Under HC orders, some hardware shipments are being held since they are "devices intended for use with a "Schedule F" drug. It's illegal, but, HEY, try and stop 'em. Really. TRY AND STOP THEM! grrrrrrr.......:(

This is true. If the device is "intended" to be used with nicotine juice. But who knows how they can possibly determine intent. It's like saying a lighter is intended to be used with crack ......., or a shot glass is intended to be used with alcohol and therefore minors can't buy them.

I'd like to think it's all how the manufacturer markets the device. Unfortunately most American and Chinese companies probably do market it as a nicotine delivery device.

Anyways, this again relates to sale and importation. Nothing they can do about personal use. And I'm quite sure visitors and tourists bringing PV's for personal use does not constitute importation.

Thanks for all the helpful info guys. I'll be in Quebec for a week so two 30mL bottles will be more than enough to hold me down during the trip. Actually, I'll probably only need one since I only vape 3-5mL/day, but I'll do one check-in and one carry-on just as a precaution. I guess I'll do the same with the PVs. Thanks again everyone
