As a frequent flier (pretty much every week) here in the states, I was wondering if anyone else has carried a GGTS through security and what the TSA folks response was? I mean, given the size, look, and construction - I could see it being mistaken as a "questionable item". I'm just curious if anyone has carried it with no issues?!? Thanks -k

Right...and I'm not concerned about the e-cig part of it - I carry mine all the time with no issues...what I'm getting at is the size and overall look of the GGTS that I could see those guys holding it and claiming it was some kind of "device" for nefarious purposes...which really sucks, 'cause I'd like to know that once I get mine I'll be able to take it with me wherever I go...

Just wanted to let you know that ive traveled with all my GG's including GGTS to and from New York City - Argentina, Spain, Chile, Portugal, Jamaica and others with 0 issues at all. The key to this is simple, Put you GGTS in the check on bad that goes under the plane and not as a carry on, Also take it apart a bit so it looks lees like something else, I put them in separate plastic bags then into luggage, Its not a hassle trust me. Never had a problem and as soon as i get to my bag after arriving at airport i walk outside, connect and vape away.... Here is a link from a few months back on a trip i took - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/gg/73238-traveling-out-country-ggts.html. Dont worry and have a safe flight!!!

Thanks for that...and I would anticipate as much in checked baggage...but as a frequent flier I do not check baggage - my jobs as a consultant are typically < 1 week, and as such I only need to take a carry on - this greatly reduces the hassles of lost baggage, etc...

So, I guess I should've clarified...I need to know if anyone has had any experiences with taking the GGTS as carry-on through security?!?

Thanks again -k

I would like to think that if you were to break it down into it's sub assemblies and empty out the tank of juice, it should be just fine. Like keon said though, I would put the smaller pieces in separate bags and put them in separate places in your carry on. Also recommended that when you bring the juice, that you put it in small bottles, 6 ml or less. May want to read up on what the Max ML of carried on liquids are as I know they have gotten strict on that, especially a thicker than water liquid.

I took my indulgence in my carry on this past week. It is about the size of the GGTS plus I do have an AFSv2 on it. So I think it is pretty comparable. I also had two full ego kits and a zip-lock full of juice bottles. Security did not even blink an eye at it. I would not ever check something like that. If they were to decide it was questionable in your checked luggage they could just confiscate it and you would never see it again. Also as much as we don't want to think it can happen. Stuff does get stolen out of luggage. Just break it down and secure the batteries (they dont like loose lithium batteries in your bags) and you are good to go. Make sure you follow the rules and empty the tank of liquid too. I keep an ego in my pocket for use on the plane.

I took mine with me to Dallas back in July this year with no problems. Juice in bag, carto's in separate bag in carry on, GGTS in carry on (batteries separate in a battery box) with several different suppliers cards. I even asked before I went through security if there would be any problems with my e-cig (so I could take it back to my family before I left for Dallas). On the return trip, I mentioned it to the first security at the airport check-in, he said, not a problem, enjoy your trip. :)

It's doable, but risky in UK airports, some of the security staff treat them as prohibited devices for no sensible reason. If they do they they will allow you to post it to yourself if you've got a suitable stamped envelope with you or they will confiscate and destroy with no compensation. This has been reported more than once.

At the least you're better off breaking it down, but personally I travel with multiple eGo batteries in my carry on and a couple in my jacket pockets plus the charger is tiny and USB powered. Cheap enough to be expendible.
Remember to put your e-liquids in your resealable plastic bag and it's wise to put them in unlabelled bottles.

I fly quite a bit on business from UK airports.

One idea:
One of my hobbies is photography and when I travel I have lots of camera stuff, some of which looks fairly odd.
None of it has ever been looked at twice.

I have not yet traveled on a plane since I started vaping, but I have complete confidence that a broken down GGTS in a camera case with batts. would get through. Wouldn't need to be a big case either- a small one with a cheapo camera (which almost everone has nowadays) would do fine, I'd think.

Everybody is befuddled by camera equipment.

I'm Flying to Sacramento after Christmas, then headed back after New Years. Not sure if I'm gonna bring my GGTS/AVS yet. I would hate to loose it. Plus, mine is a 2 of a kind... so it's not really replaceable either.

Probly gonna stick with egos, and a handful of auto batteries. maybe i'll try to snag another, cheaper MOD for the trip.

hmmm... been traveling a fair bit lately, taken two GGTS with AFS/AVSes on them through a bunch of european airports, all fired up and just in my jacket pocket, which I put through the scanner then. By "fired up" I mean they were fully assembled and ready to go at any moment.

Only had someone ask what it was once, in Schiphol and then they let me through just fine.

I recently went to Jamaica and brought actually all my PV's with me (GGTS, EGO, Chuck, and my V2). I packed them in a hard metal case then into my carry on bookbag with no batteries. I brought an extra KR808 with me just incase. I had no problems leaving the states but got held up in Jamaica but customs coming home. I was there for about 30-45minutes until a supervisor came over and knew what they were. My recommendation is to pack everything with batteries removed in your check on baggage in a locked hard case like I did and bring a small throw away on the plane. They are getting stricter and stricter on flights. Why lose a GGTS if you don't have to....
