Not sure if anyone else has this issue, but I have Essential Tremor - my hands shake. I've been ok filling my GeniTank for the most part, but the Halo Kringle's Curse is somewhat thick. I noticed that when I went to fill my EMOW Mega with the Bumble Bee Strawberry Shortcake, that I have a little bit harder time filling and not spilling. I bought another EMOW Mega tank today (yay!) and was going to switch out my GeniTank, but I was curious if anyone thought it would be easier to fill my tanks with a needle top bottle or other plastic bottle. Suggestions? Anyone with similar issues? Part of the issue is with the rubber part of the dropper.

You have a good idea of filling with a needle tip cap bottle. Only thing is that really thick heavy vg juices might still be a pain to fill. For those I would probably suggest trying a wide gauge syringe. I use them for my diy stuff since I mainly vape high vg liquid. Just make sure to get the blunt tips so you don't stab yourself. I've done that without tremors and it sucks.

With thick juices, I squeeze the bottle with a pair of pliers.

Being a diabetic, I sometimes have a slight jittery hand. I use one hand to support the primary hand. Also, if you are trying to fill from the bottom and need one of your hands to hold the topper, my vaping stand has a spot for a pen-style. I put the topper in it.

My body is pretty beat up so I have adapted somewhat.

I've have had two strokes and I also have MS. I personally experience tremors in my right hand frequently which is a pain in the .... especially when your your trying to refill your tanks and/or clearomizer.
I haven't used a syringe but I have found that some of the e-liquids I have purchased come with a very thin, longer tip which really helps. (not sure if that's the same as the needle tip that deleon517 mentioned up above)
The stubbier bottle tips are a little more of a pain as you really can't get them too far into the tanks or clearo's without hitting up against the inner whole thingy (the name escapes me right at this moment)
Depending on how bad your tremors are, a syringe may very well be the ideal way to go for you.....just play around with different tips etc until you find one that works for you :)

Hi Paramaniac and welcome to ECF!

I too deal with essential tremors and as we know, there are varying severity of the tremors. At first I didn't think I would be able to fill a tank, but have managed OK for the most part. I do use the nipple bottles, but have noticed some have more of a blunt end, so have collected those with more of a point and switch them out if needed. Tipping the tank when starting to fill it helps as well. Yeah, sometimes I get juice down the center, but just clean it out after reassembly. I tried some of the needle nose and found that it was more frustrating as it took a lot longer to fill the tank. At least the ones I got I had to squeeze the bottle for a long time over and over to get the tank full. The syringe sounds good, but have never tried it. But I run several tanks and am filling them with different flavors. So I am just making do as best I can for now.

For me, I hold the tank down on the table and rest my right hand (with bottle) palm/forearm on the edge of the table keeping both somewhat still. Don't know if that helps, but I do know what you are going through. Oh, and tanks with a bigger spread from edge to center really helps as well. Good luck!

I just posted this in another topic, will repeat here.

Just buy some bottles with plastic needle ends, that have regular ejuice caps. That's all I use now. Vicki at Cignot has them and they are GREAT:
https://www.cignot.com/product_p/msc-drp-bot.htm

you get TWO bottles for $2.00, can't beat that. Pick up some supplies there while yer at it, cuz you don't wnt to pay shipping just for a $2.00 bottle order.

I think they will be easy for you to hold........they are 18ml bottles so they are big!

MSC-DRP-BOT-2T.jpg

the needle tips i was referring to aren't plastic they replace the dripper tip and the top cap. There is a small metal blunt tip needle attached to a screw on cap.

Those are good for home on the counter......all they have is a little silicone end cap hooked usually to a "leash". They are not at all leak proof and will leak all over the place if that tiny little cap is bumped.

where do you purchase these from? do you have to buy specif bottles that they fit onto or will they fit any sized bottle/

10ml STEEL NEEDLE TIP DROPPER BOTTLES 10x | E-Liquids | All Liquids: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific
essentially what you will want is that top portion. I didn't buy these bottles just the top cap. Can't remember which vendor sold them as it has been a few years since I used those. The ones I have fit on everything from 5ml-50ml bottles from pretty much every vendor I have tried.

I like the bottles w/that deleon suggested, but those little thingies on end of needle fall off........also, the screw on caps leak at the threads if I squeeze them too hard.........and I DO have to squeeze them hard because those steel "needles" are very very narrow inside, I don't think they are anywhere near 14 gauage or anytihng.........so when I squeeze high vg juice out of those other bottles, they leak at the threads where they are screwed on. ....all least, all mine do.

I prefer a bottle iwth a tight fitting over-cap, and a bottle that is thick and well made, and I think vicki searched long and hard for the ones she has, cuz they really are wonderfu.

Get some of each and decide. :)

Sorry this pic is so big but I just got some of these from Fasttech.com. $2.95 for 5 50ml bottles. I think they are going to be great. I also have some needle nose bottles that I have been using. If you would like to have one of each, pm your address and I will send them to you. I don't mind sharing at all. :) and it can save you some money if it does not work out.

yeah, I can see why trying to put that little cap cover back on would be a pain in the ...., but these look exactly like what I need..I'm sure the OP would benefit from these too, or anyone for that matter as some of the clearo's are a pain in the .... to fill regardless of whether you shake or not.

THANK YOU!!

Thanks for the reminder, 2pksAday! I forgot to mention in my first post that one of the first things I did when starting to vape was getting a couple bigger tanks.....easier and less frequent filling! I picked up a Kanger Aerotank Mega and after trying it a while, got a second one. That big Kanger subtank works really nice if you have a battery to run it and am ready to order the 5ml tank for the Atlantis.

If you are like me, there are good days and bad. During the good days I make sure all my tanks are topped off so I can easily get through the bad days without filling.

Thanks for the suggestions, All! I have good days and bad days, but thankfully I'm one of the lucky ones in that certain medications work for my tremors, but there's that small residual that I discovered makes filling tanks a wee bit harder. I think I'll get a few different bottles and see how they are for me, but the needle nose looks like the cover would be hard to put back on.

The needle tip, or longer nose tips are easier for me. I ordered a package of 6 needle tips from Amazon. I think it was Lightening Vapes, I get wire d various things from them. I have RA, & manipulating, & holding, squeezing some shapes is difficult. But where there's a will, there's a way. Necessity is the mother of invention, blah, blah. The metal needle tips have a longer tip than the plastic long tip,. Once you hit the hole it's easier to keep it there. Even if you are shakey. Also, the bottle is a softer plastic & very easy to squeeze (no pliers needed, it's that soft.. It takes very little pressure. And if you have a way to set your tank down, without it falling over when you let go, you can leave the bottle with the tip inserted into the tank, & let go of the whole thing if you need to rest or steady your hands or arms. The tip is long enough, & strong enough to hold it in the hole. The tip cover is very tiny, but it does keep the liquid from leaking in your pocket. If you only use it at home you can just use a little ball of saran wrap on the tip to prevent evaporation, of the tube getting plugged with dried juice in it.
