Triade DNA250C SPARKS under USB Port

So guys,this is the deal..
I opened the mod because I wanted to clean the fire button, and minus button popped into this opening below the usb port, mod was ON and small sparks started and it stinked. I pulled out the button as fast as I could, everything seemed to be fine now, what do you think guys? Is it safe to use?
Because I'm a little sceptic about it now..
I used it after that ,its seems okay,USB port is also working ,but there is that 'burn smell' ... Is that smell becouse of those sparks or something else?

Sparks and a burnt smell suggests a short circuit occured. I know the mod cost you a pretty penny, but why risk it? Why was the mod "on" while it was apart?

Becouse Im a stupid idiot , I was to tired to get the batteries out. That was supposed to be just a quick cleaning of a fire button.

The exposed solder joints under the USB are for battery metering – they carry a current. You are lucky you did not send the batteries into a thermal event, otherwise the burnt smell might have been your skin!

Remove the power source, ie: batteries, next time you decide to take apart your device.

Thank you brother for your reply. Should I buy a new batteries? I took them out of the mod now . Im not a rookie ,but this was a fck rookie mistake.

Understand. We all make mistakes sometimes. I burnt a 5mm hole in a friends phono stage once while opening up his amplifier while it was still plugged in. Fortunately…I knew how to fix it, but he still was not too pleased.

As for your Triade. Difficult to tell whether it is safe or not. You have the device, you are going to have to be that judge. I would plug it into Escrib and open the Device Monitor – Plot all 3 cells to A: See if they plot. And B: See if the voltage drop is similar across all 3 when you take a vape. Their voltage may differ slightly…that is normal.

Love the Triade, own 2 of them – Triade abuse is punishable by death in some regions

how long was the "button" in contact with the solder joint? If it was just a split second, I feel there is no issue, but if it was stuck there for several seconds... there may be some internal damage that could compromise the unit.

In total ,maybe for 1,1 and a half second.

I wouldn't trust that decice anymore.I'm not electrician this is just my opinion.

Probably takes less than a milisecond for a short circuit to damage a battery. Damage would be internally where you couldn't see it. If it were me I'd get new batteries.
