Hi all,

My Trident V2 clone arrived today so I was very excited to build it once I got back from work! So got home cleaned it all off in my usual method washing it down with hot soapy water then leaving it in a bowl of hot soapy water for 30 minutes then rinse it again thoroughly. After that I built it up wicked it etc dripped my lovely DIY strawberry and cream in there....

BAM! A horrible horrible machine oil taste with a hint of strawberrys... Thought it would pass so took a few more vapes and it's still there so I've taken the wick out and cleaned it again and have put it in boiling hot soapy water to soak again.

My question what's the best way to clean it to 100% get rid of the machine oil? I've thought about boiling it and removed the o ring while doing it but would it damage the insulator ?

Any tips would be handy, cheers! :)

I use the same method. Ultrasonic cleaner also works well, but is not really necessary. Wash it a couple of times in soap and really hot water, and use your dish brush or some vaper towel to really massage that machine oil out.

Leaving it to soak for an hour in said solution is also effective, I believe. Dishwasher detergent might also be more effective than dish soap, but I have not tried that myself, so that's just a guess.

I did think about vinegar but didn't want it to mess up the insulator. Yeah I've stuck it in soak again and gonna take a spare toothbrush to it to help brush the oil off. From now on I am deep cleaning all my new attys not just a quick soapy rinse... Machine oil does not vape well!! Thanks guys :)

Hmmmm smell is still there I dunno if I should risk boiling it and hope the insulator doesn't mess up lol

Depending on which clone you purchased, I recently aquired an Infinite clone and modded it for my Reo and there was no machine oil at all on it. I was surprised to see how clean it was. I modded it, coiled it, and vaped it... As for the insulator, that thing is thick and heavy duty. I don't think you could get the water hot enough to do any damage to it. Not sure what the Ehpro and Tobeco clones are like so can't speak for them. I really am enjoying my Infinite clone though...

I usually wash mine off with hot water and dish soap when I first get them. I clean off what I can with some paper towels and then switch to Q-tips to get right up to and between the posts. I keep going till no more black comes off on the Q-tips and then I go a bit more just for good measure. I probably go through about 10 Q-tips but once I'm done the rda is nice and clean!
