A local shop near me started carrying 5 pawns recently, and I decided to splurge and buy a bottle. I got Gambit, and do have to say the flavor is spot on apple pie with ice cream.
I know there are a lot of folks that knock them for their pricing, which was also a point of contention with me too. I DIY most of my juice, and this is the first liquid I have purchased in about 2 months. When it boils down to it, will I buy it again? Maybe. If I am in the mood and feel like treating myself I will... but, I will try to improve my DIY mixes to get flavors as complex. I'm not quite there yet, but I am improving.

Um... yea.. that is ......ed expensive to me. Not knocking them but I will buy juice elsewhere and probably find something I like. I mean, unless it's made with a lil somethin extra like diamonds and molly and gives me magical powers... but seriously $37.50?!?! I just bought 8 bottles of 10ml juice for about that price... well.. with a Black Friday coupon.. but still! I mean, is it THAT much better?

Thats what I'm thinking. I'm new to this and right now would not even consider a liquid at that price, but who knows maybe it's amazing.
When I first read the title I thought OP had gone to 5 pawn shops haha

I sucked it up and bought a bottle of the reserve this morning to see what the fuss is about- and I'm such a fan of the flavors it's supposed to have. Someone isn't getting a Christmas present.

Where did you find the Castle Long Reserve? I've been trying to find some and everyone seems to be sold out.

It's only one limited release flavor that is $37.50/30ml bottle. Their business model is to sell online for the same price that their B&M stores carry them so as not to undercut the physical stores. I've tried them all, except the Castle Long Reserve, and really liked them. Grandmaster used to be one of my all time favorite juices (peanut butter banana caramel) but something about my taste buds changed and I can no longer enjoy this juice. They create a quality juice that for many falls more into the "once in a while treat" category like pints of Ben & Jerry's or Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream.

I get it, Five Pawns is expensive, but there are many dozens of boutique brands now that play in this price range. Why everyone complains that Five Pawns is too expensive, and does not ever mention The Standard, Jameson's, Space Jam, Uncle Junk's, Suicide Bunny, Drakes, Next Level, Craving Vapor, or the dozens of other names that play in this price range is beyond me. It's always Five Pawns that gets called out.

With boutique juices here are some things to consider. The maker of it has to get their money, they sell to the dealer who also must get their money. That usually around a 40% - 60% split either way depending on the brands terms. What you as a customer gets in return is consistency, unique usually made in house flavorings and extracts, clean juices made in laboratory sterile conditions, and yes, slick bottles, branding, and image too.

You can always go elsewhere and pay less, but almost all of the juice vendors that cost way less are a crap shoot. You can't just walk into to your local dealer and test it on the spot. You spend less but you have to hope you like it. Also these guys are like Moonshiners, you hope they are one of the few good ones, but odds are they is a he who is mixing in his garage or kitchen table and he made a website. He uses TFA or Flavorwest flavorings and he uses cheap squeeze bottles and calls it Fairy Blood or something.

As for the $37.50 single offering Five Pawns has, they steep it in an oak barrel for 3 weeks. It's made in very limited runs because of it. Is it better? I like it a lot, especially for dripping. It's one of the most complex juices I've run across.

Five Pawns is expensive, but I have many boutique brands in my drawer. I usually have 15 flavors on hand at least to vape. They are just a voice in the choir of my rotation. It's not like I pay $27.50 all the time to vape this stuff all day every day. I treat myself every so often to them.

Seems pretty simple to me. If they can make something good enough for people to want to pay that, they've got it covered. If the juice didn't justify the price, they'd either lower the price, make better juice, or go out of business.

If you want to spend $10 for 30ml, there's tons of places to do that. I see no problem with someone occupying a higher-end niche, if they've got the goods to back it up.

I must say---get over their pricing if you can (financially able) and check it out. I love Gambit, Queenside, and my favorite is Bowden's Mate. It is so friggin crisp. Anyway I am not trying to shill or shell or whatever that is called. I just wanted to point out if folks cannot buy a bottle of 5Pawns---how did you ever afford analogs? I am trying to ask this in a serious but kind way-I just want to make sure everyone knows I am not trying to fight. I am really fond of the sharp taste and the flowing flavor....all of their favors have a complex taste. When you inhale you taste one flavor, then the "body" of another flavor kind of sits in the back of the tongue, then you taste another flavor upon exhale. That's how the ones I like seem to move during my vape.
Anyone who quit to save money wouldn't be buying 5Pawns on a regular basis- and I totally get that.
Have a good one ya'll.
