So I was organizing the stuff in my car this morning before I go to work, and found a pack (sealed) of Marlboro reds. I was gonna throw it straight to the trash bin, but I thought about trying one. So I grabbed one and light it up, and oh-my-gawd  it was so disgusting and nasty, I cant bear the smell and taste. Didnt even bother going for a second puff. Well, at least now I am 100% confident that I will never ever smoke analog again :)

PS: I smoked cigarettes for 15yrs, and my last one was new years eve (12/2012).

Happy vaping everyone!

Glad to hear that you passed that hurdle. :toast: It makes you feel great, doesn't it?

Thank you, and yes I feel so good about it!

Same thing happened to me last week when I left my vape gear at work. I was fiending for nicotine so bought a pack of camels fired one up and it was so nasty, never again.

Hahaha, I know right?! But Im glad though that it tasted nasty, otherwise I would have had finished the whole sucker. LOL

Exact same thing happened to me the other day.
I can only imagine what my co-workers, family and friends thinks when Im next to them when I still smoke. Although I always have a mint in my pocket especially at work.
I still apologize to my sister every chance I get for putting her through the nuisance of analogs.

Happy vaping everyone!

I remember the last time I lit up...I had just received my first 510 kit on a Monday afternoon. The next morning, when I lit up, I choked down my last cigarette. Couldn't tell from the taste if I had lit the tobacco end, or the filter end--but I felt I had to have it. Spend the rest if that day just vaping. That was just over 6 months ago. While I still may crave a cigarette from time to time, I won't be lighting one up.

I bought my first ecig back in 2010. An analog style Volcano. I was back and forth between electronic and analog. I started vaping again seriously about a month ago and had been smoking less and less day by day. I got a new clearo and some new, high quality juice a few days ago and the last few cigs in my last pack just turned me off completely... I think I am done with them for good.. as long as I can keep myself in new toys and good juice long enough to fight the urge to revert to old habits... Going out drinking the night before last and not having any analogs really cemented it for me.

Good luck to all!

Thank you for posting that. I had a rough day yesterday and thought about stopping at the store and picking up a pack... After almost 3weeks the urge was STRONG!! Didn't do it and your post has reminded me why. Thanks again.

Three weeks - heh. You have a ways to go.

A lot of us hit "mile stones" for cravings. Seems like there are almost pre-determined time frames when the cravings rear up - the six month point, nine months... At three weeks you are really early in so you may still be hitting cravings on a weekly if not a daily basis. But now you have options too. I had to use higher than normal (for me) nicotine levels to deal with craving fits in the first 90 days. For me "the dailies" were early in the day - every day - and late evening. It wasn't the kind of thing that just vaping more dealt with - not very effectively. But switching up to a higher nic liquid for even a couple hours helped a lot.

That's the beauty of e-cigs - the flexibility. Vape more if it helps. Change your nic level up - or down. Switch flavors if it helps to take your mind off a craving fit. You have permission to play! Not so much with that whole gum or patch routine...

And yes, it gets better. This is the only time in a 30 year smoking history that I quit and stayed quit. Craving levels vary from one person to the next. But the ability to deal with cravings? They were never easier to deal with than with e-cigs. My last "bad" (not so bad, really) fit was at the nine month mark. Now cravings for cigarettes just seem like a distant memory.

Lastly, it's a really wondrous thing that many of us go through, that whole thing you never thought would happen: Cigarettes turn and become disgusting! Never saw that one coming. I continued to smoke during my first 90 days of vaping. And in very short order I started to dislike them. A lot. In their own way, smoking cigarettes turned into their own biggest negative reinforcement. If you break down and have one you might not need to be all that concerned about it. Like so many of us have done: Tried it, found it disgusting, put it out right away, never had another. That happens - a lot.

Just the smell of second hand smoke in the air or the scent of stale cigarette smoke on a person is unpleasant enough. The last cigarette I smoked, after months of vaping only, ripped up my throat and lungs, and I really felt it the next day. I even did the ole hack-up-chunks-of-lung ritual that I had grown so accustomed to as a smoker. My body was very clear about not wanting that stuff any more. I am still tempted from time to time, but it is never more than a fleeting thought. The one thing I do miss is looking so damn cool!

I also tried an analog after about two weaks into vaping. I had placed a bet with a co-worker and didn't think I would actually win, his part of the bet was if he lost he would give me five cigarettes. Well I won and thought what the heck I will smoke em. Lit it up and started but did not finish. I was instantly feeling sick for a few hours, the taste in my mouth was horrible. Now when I pass by someone who is a smoker I can smell it on them and it is gross. I have a new respect for those who were disgusted by smoking and stated it made them feel bad from second hand smoke. If I am around someone while they actually smoke I start to feel sick again. No more for me, ever.
