I have a Vaporflask with DNA40 + Vertex rda, I am the kind that like balanced setup, something like 60% flavor and 40% vapor, priority on flavor but do not like thin cloud either. Found my favorite setup after 2 weeks of tweaking, settled with single coil Kanthal 28ga 2mm id 10 wraps running 18 watts @ 1.5ohm with tight rayon wick. Good vapor and excellent flavor for me. My wife and mom started complaining about the danger of poisonous vapor in extreme temp so I decided to make use of the temperature control function of my VF.
Living in Indonesia, I do not have many choices when it comes to good quality nickel wire, all I could find locally was Temco ni200 in 28 ga and 26 ga, so I bought a 30ft roll of 28 ga today. Managed to nail the build on first try with single coil, pretty easy IMO, just gotta have a steady hand. 3mm id, 10 wraps, spaced coil @ 0.15 ohm, tight rayon wick running around 20-25 watts set @ 450F. TP kick in real quick when I press the button without inhaling or blowing air around the coil but never kick in when I inhale or blow on it. It works fine but I noticed that the flavor and vapor decreased by a noticeable margin when comparing to my previous non temperature control build...When I tried to jack up the wattage to 30-40 watts I am getting unbearably hot vape and I would cough uncontrollably, just cannot stand anything beyond 25 watts. juice is High Roller Caribbean Stud 5mg nic (my ADV).
Any suggestion of good build based on my descriptions?? It's gotta be ni200 28ga build because I already have a 30ft roll and it is all I could find locally.
