So I got my sigelei 75 watt tc in the mail and some nickel wire with it to. Threw this together and I know I must have made some kind of mistake.

So it comes out to 0.08 ohms, I set the resistance, changed my wattage to just 20 watts and it barley makes any vapor. No short circuit message display warnings or check atomizer display warnings.

It was room temperature before I reset the resistance.

Looks like my wires are smoothly under the screws in the post holes and they feel nice and secure. Both have 11 wraps of ni200 28g. I'm not sure if it just needs more wattage or if this build is just to low res. I probably should have tried a single coil build instead but meh.

Should I bump the wattage up to like 40w? Won't that be pushing 22 amps? My battery Is rated for 20 amp continuous and 35 amp pulse.

Well It was easy enough making these coils but somewhere along the lines something just isn't right. Some help will be much appreciated. Going to sleep soon so i'll check in on this thread sometime after 6:00 tomorrow.

Well right after I posted this I tried it at 40 watts just to see. It was a decent hit this time but I'm just worried about the amps. I know it's a regulated device so should I worry about about breaking the amp limit with nickel wire while in temp mode?

I forgot to say it was set to 421 deg Fahrenheit.

Amp drain works a bit differently on regulated mods. Only wattage and battery charge level (lower charge = higher amp draw) factor into the amp draw, resistance doesn't matter. Assuming a 90% device efficiency and battery charge level at 3.2v at the lowest, a 20 amp battery is good for close to 60w. Check the amp draw calculator at steam-engine.org

And even at 60W... In TC mode, the mod will regulate the wattage to maintain the temperature so you will not be at 60W the entire time.

OP, do not expect a vape like you got from kanthal. At 20W and 421ºF it's no surprise it wasn't producing much. If you inhaled on that though, I bet it was a very cool vape. TC really enlightened me on how hot I was actually vaping at with kanthal.
