I have a hard time getting two wires to fit under the positive screw without slipping out.

I was wondering if anyone knew how hard it was to make a dual vertical sleeper coil so I'd only need to use one wire? Or does anyone else have any other recommendations, other than using thinner wire? (I'm using 28 gauge on it, but I really don't feel like ordering 30 or 32 right this very second)

those have to be some seriously small washers lol
what size cause i just bought a kraken from my buddy and havent built it yet cause the wrap around on screws kinda turns me off

Posts with holes aren't all that great when using mesh wicks. That's possibly why they're not that common on gennies. My EA Nebula got holes. I rarely use the hole in the center post. Just easier to finish the coil by wrapping it around a post than maintaining something resembling a decent coil while threading a hole.

One of the main differences between my original Kraken and my clones is the center post top. The clone uses two washers, while the original has a center post with a small 'plateau' (in lack of a better term) and one washer. Easier to work with the original, IMHO.

FatDaddyVapes, has the washers, if you are looking to buy.

Buzz's solution should work. If it doesnt (I have the same issue) wrap the kanthal around the screw first, the build the coil.
Its the only way that I can do it without getting irritated.

With the negative screw that is fine (for my cable/mesh build i started at the negative and wrapped up), But wrapping down is a problem for me. I always grab more kanthal than I need, With the longer legs, winding it between the positive post and whatever im wrapping around is too much of a pain.

As of now I keep the leads going to the positive going the same direction so I can just press one in with the other and tighten both down

I mount duals like that on it, one resistance per washer.

I think that he is talking about winding from the positive post, top down.
Maybe he gets better results?

I was saying why I CAN'T wrap down from the positive.

As per vapolator, mine only came with one washer, hence my problem.

I have since stopped using the Kraken as I now have an Origen v2 clone; no problems whatsoever.

... and that is generally one of the main differences between clones and originals. Sloppy screw holes and fasteners that don't quite fit right.

Don't get me wrong. Not touching on ethics or such. And there are exceptions in both clones and originals. Sucks having to pay $100 more just to get a couple micro screwholes right. Sucks even more to pay that $100 extra and find out some mod makers do no better than cloners.

Guess I'm just randomly ranting with no specific agenda. Yep... some gennies can be a PITA to fasten coils on. My Sat22 clones being among them. And Kraken clones. The latter not that bad... but I guess it can be - with two wires.

The worst is when you tighten a screw down, and the whole post turns, screwing up your coil, pinching the wick.

If you go back to the Kraken, what you can do is pass the kanthal through the washer, then mount the washer on the center post.
Lots of times, you can simply trap the kanthal between the post and washer when you tighten it like that, and not even bother with wrapping it around the post.
Hope you have better luck with the Origen
