My hubby puts his Ego in his pocket all the time :) Only thing I do suggest is going ahead and trying to get one that is already silver (no paint) - Get one of the bigger batteries 1000 mah so you don't have to charge it every few hours, and let it charge while you're sleeping.

The LR Boge Cartomizers are pretty substantial, they hold 15 drops of liquid (at the minimal) so they should last you a while so you don't have to worry about filling and stuff while you're on the road. I assume you have a USB adapter somewhere in the truck, if you can I would use one of the USB 1000 mah EGO batteries, it can charge while you're using it in the truck, then when you need to get out, pop it off the USB, and stick the end cap back on and go :D But - that's just MY opinion :)

What kind of ecig did you have that had to be taken apart? Were you worried about juice leaking into an auto battery?

I have mostly 808 autos and I don't take them apart, except to change the cartos out. I carry them in my pocket, my backpack, etc.

I don't find ecigs to be any more distracting to my driving than smoking cigarettes, maybe less, since I don't have to find them, find the lighter, get the ashes to the ashtray, etc.

Besides my auto 808's I have a couple of CigEasy Elegants that are manual. I have never killed an auto battery with leaking, that I know of, in 4+ months have only had one battery quit. But with the manual Elegants I definitely don't have to worry about any leaking, like from overfilling.

A friend of mine uses a PT in her truck all the time.

Good luck finding what works for you......

get this and this

If you use cartomizers... you'd still need to take time out for refilling them or some tank system might help.

This links to a USB charger that plugs into a cigarette lighter and a PV passthrough battery (510 Riva-ish) The Passthrough can charge and be used while plugged into the charger. No need to worry about switching batteries with this plugged in. Just unplug it to go mobile at those truck stops and stuff. Mine lasts about 3 hours with a low resistance cartomizer and as long as it's plugged in it never dies.

I would reccomend a manual push button over an automatic. The manual batteries are sealed so they don't leak into the battery. I would also recomend getting a usb passthrough. It looks just like a regula battery with a usb cord connected to the end. You can attach that to a usb car adapter for contious usage without worring about battery life. There are also atty's and carts out there that allow for more liquid so you are not filling it up as much.

Welcome! My husband is a truck driver and it was for him I got into the world of vaping. I quit the first day I got the kits, he's still struggling with the change. For fathers day I bought him (and gave it to him early) a bottom feeder box mod.

I charged up the batteries, filled it and put a mega dual coil cartomizer on it and gave it to him. The first words out of his mouth were "This might be just what I need".

Although he's still smoking (a person really has to want to quit for any method to work), he really likes his 'Old Goat Mod', in fact I kinda hoped he didn't so I could have it. :)

3.7 v Box Mod The batteries last all day and are cheap ($4-$5), and the bottle holds 3ml of liquid.
I did need a better switch because I wanted to be able to use the dual coil cartos.

Hello and welcome to ecf....I would recommend an eGo passthrough also....just plug into a cig car usb charger and vape non-stop if you want......just fill your cartomizers when you can and have plenty on hand so you don't run out......Liberty-flights.com has an Joy Ego pt for like $21 after you click on their 20% off button at the top left of their page...2.99 shipping.....and pick up some Boge cartomizers there also......save on shipping...

My husband drives for Panther Expedite. You know how crazy expediters hours are. He smoked little cigars to stay awake. Now that he has a team mate, he can't smoke. He has an e-pipe that he loves, but that's for relaxing at home. He asked me for something idiot-proof that he can hold with his teeth while he drives.

I gave him a spare Blucig kit. Since he is not a heavy smoker, they do the job well enough. I'll get him more cartos, or just refill the ones he has when he is on hometime. It is working very well for him. The only problem he has is that he is chewing through the paper wrapping on the carto.

I made him a lanyard for it, so he just hangs it around his neck. It makes it very easy to pick up when he wants it and drop it and let it hang there when he isn't using it.

Drive Safely!!

I drive too, started off with an eGo with 1000 mah battery and atomizer/carts which worked ok but now I've got a 3.7v box mod - foxyboxmods.com - Home which uses inexpensive 900 mah protected batteries and LR Boge cartomizers. I get 2 or 3 hours before I have to change cartos or top of the one I'm using. It's a small unit and fits easily in my shirt pocket. Very well made, inexpensive, and I just can't say enough good things about it or Godzilla who makes the mod. I didn't want to fool with a pass-through with wires so this works great for me. Put a 2.0 ohm Boge or 1.5 dual-coil cartomizer on it and it vapes great and lasts a long while.

i had the eluma.so delicate i couldn't lay it down flat for five minutes without shorting out the battery.[at least thats what happened to me.thats what i was told anyway when they refused to send me another battery. after 6-8 draws and laying it down, the battery quit."customer damage is NOT covered by the warranty"]i need one that will lay on the dash or in my pocket untill i want to vape again without picking up the two parts and screwing them together.

You have a number of good suggestions here, other than the one which stated that auto batteries have no problems. That's just plain BS as their are thousands of posts on here that counter that statement although a few auto batteries are better than other autos but most can't match a good manual battery.

I'm in my car a good part of the day. I wanted a PV (personal vaperizer) that would provide 20+ hours on a charge for a heavy vaper, have great thorat hit (inhaled feel of smoking), double as a pass-through so if I needed to charge it I could and still vape at the same time, have regulated boost technology so the first inhale was exactly the same as the last after 20 hours and be able to use any atomizer or cartomizer. I found it in the variable volt Darwin from NHaler • Smoking Alternatives.

If you don't want to fool with refilling attys or cartos, then the suggestion of a feeder PV such as the Reo is a good one or the new GLV3 from: Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor

Good Luck

As you seem to be getting all kinds of advice here I will throw in my two cents. I would go with the ego with the 1000 mah batteries and also invest in a passthrough Get the manuals instead of the automatics. One battery will last you about twelve hours I would get two at least that way you can always have one charging. Cartomizers or atty's are a preference Some people like one over the other. I personally like the cartomizers. I also have invested in the tank kit Yu just fill up the cartridge and pop it into your atty. No muss no fuss. That is what I got my brother for his birthdya, he is a long distance hauler, and he absolutely loves it. Another pv you might want to consider is a mod. I just bought my first reo and I am absolutely amazed. Go check out the review on the ego, eog-T and the reo over at U-Tube Just type in reviews on the devices and it will show you all the tutorials and reviews on these

im looking at the ego right now as my possible next purchase.what i need is a device i can puff on ,lay it down,in pocket or whatever, then pick it up and vape.i guess the manuel is the way to go for me.push the button and it sizzles the juice i reckon.my concern is if i lay it down,it wont fry the batt.will it?eluma swore thats what i did[every one knows you shouldn't leave your eluma cig .laying around connected together.] and i was a bad boy for doing it.therefore no replacement.they did [in all fairness] send me a code good for the price of one batt,IF i bought two batterys.mighty generous of them i must say.
