I ordered a twist / stv vivi nova from myvapestore.com(same day shipped when ordered!) and wondering whats the does and don't when first starting so I don't break my battery or end up with e-juice in my pocket?

Can I keep the cart/battery in my pocket and not worry about anything wrong happening ? or should I always take it apart when not using ?

Also Can I put a little bit of e-juice in my cart to try it out so see if I like ? or should i always fill it up?

Can I hit it like a regular cig and keep hitting it back to back without it breaking or over heating?

I saw a video on how to clean the cart and does anyone know the correct way to dry a wick ? I see some people dry burn after cleaning and some let it sit over night. I was thinking maybe a hair dryer would work?

how long does a standard battery last before completely dying out and having to purchase another one?

Also what about the different atomizer in the vivi novas and the twist battery settings? they have a 1.8 and 2.8 atomizer i think ? I'm still a noob to how these work and why

any other tips would be helpful! thanks! :smokie:

Can I keep the cart/battery in my pocket and not worry about anything wrong happening ? or should I always take it apart when not using ? - should be ok in a shirt pocket but I would not put it in a pants pocket due to the stress when you walk or sit

Also Can I put a little bit of e-juice in my cart to try it out so see if I like ? or should i always fill it up? I would order a few 510 atomizers for this - the vivi nova needs to have the wicks saturated to work properly (you will also need to "twirl" the vivi nova when your juice gets low in the tank to keep the wicks saturated - this will become second nature and is easy to get used to)

I saw a video on how to clean the cart and does anyone know the correct way to dry a wick ? I see some people dry burn after cleaning and some let it sit over night. I was thinking maybe a hair dryer would work? I would not recommend dry burning the vivi nova - the best way is to clean the head and let it air dry (or use the blow dryer) I personally just use a different head while the 1st one is drying - I also have multiple vivi novas to have different flavors in - and 1 with the full metal tank for my juice that damages plastic ie: cinnamon, citrus, wintergreen etc

how long does a standard battery last before completely dying out and having to purchase another one?
most batteries have a duty life of 250-300 full charge cycles (battery run down to point it turns itself off and then fully charged again) opinions vary on this

other tips - get back up batteries and tanks or clearos, extra heads for vivi nova's (the vision brand get the best reviews - I have not tried any of the clones ie: smoketech or private label and the heads for these reportedly do not fit on the vision brand and vice versa)

welcome to the wide, wide world of vaping and enjoy yourself

I started with a nova and a ego battery. The STV is a nice atomizer. I wouldnt get into the habit of keeping it in your pocket especially with 3 mils of ejuice in it. You can break your atomizer as well or do worse once you get a expensive mod. I would fill it about half way at least and wait about 30 sec for the wick to get the juice to the coil. I normally fill and do something else then come back and grab mine. I think the MTBF is 900 recharges. I am sure you will have moved on before you hit that. You match the coil OHMS to the battery voltage there is a chart here http://0363544.netsolhost.com/wordpress1/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/vapechart.png

atty ohms on the left battery voltage on top stay in the green. So a 1.8 ohm would run at 3.2 to 3.4 volts and the 2.8 at about 4.1 to 4.8. I wouldnt go with dry burning your attys for now just get some replacement heads keep them DONT throw them away. Once you get to a point like we all do you will rebuild them then you will know how to dry burn them. I rinse mine with water and gently pat with a paper towel. sit out to dry and use another one. another reason to have more:)

Hey appreciate the chart and the tips!

Will the juice leak out of the vivi nova? or can i turn them upside down with no problem ? what would be the best way to carry one of these? Maybe I should of gotten some small carts to fit in my pocket?

I got a disposable blu cig and puffed on it really hard multiple times and killed it in 1 day(i think they said its a pack and half worth of cigs?) doubt i hit it that many times considering you can take a good bit of hits off a cig lol.

I never use a tank for sampling, as others have said with the wick style heads its hard to get the flavor out. Drip for sampling, then tank what you like. Get a few replacement heads/coils so you don't have any down time when you change flavors. Also after a while the vapor will taste burned and you'll want to clean or replace the head. I clean with vodka and water and the just let it sit out to dry. Vodka isn't the best solution but I don't like rubbing alcohol and I don't have grain alcohol. The tank itself can be rinsed out with hot water.

The chart has been posted above as well for proper voltage with your twist, but don't be afraid to mess around. If it tastes burned back off, if its too weak step up. You'll get the hang of it quickly.

I haven't experienced any leakage from my Vivi Nov from carrying it in my jeans pocket. In the winter, it goes in my inside windbreaker or jacket pocket so it won't fall out. Of course, you have to be aware of pressures on the tank when you sit down. I wouldn't let it turn upside down for any length of time. I try to keep it level or upright.

The Twist has enough voltage range to use either the 1.8 ohm or the 2.8 ohm coils. Just adjust the voltage to taste. The 2.8 ohm coil would be my choice, though. Operating your variable voltage ecig at close to 3.7v will extend the charge life. Boosting or reducing voltage results in higher battery drain for either. When you cut voltage, what isn't delivered (below 3.7v) to your coil is expended in the form of heat. When you boost voltage above 3.7v (the native voltage of the cell) energy is expended by the electronics to create the higher voltage.

I wash and dry burn my Vivi coils to clean them. I use a syringe to draw out the juice and then take off the tube. I wash the coil and wick under hot tap water and then squeeze the wicks dry with a paper towel. Then, I move to a darkened corner and look down into the coil while pressing the fire button (with the tube still removed). You will hear sizzling from the water in the coil for a few seconds and then will notice a dull red glow that appears. When the glow appears, release the button after a couple of seconds. Pulse the fire button repeatedly until you see the dull red glow for a second or two and then release. You will see little wisps of smoke as the baked on juice burns off the coil. When there's no more smoke, it's clean. Doing this when the flavor changes will restore the vape to its original taste and flavor.

I haven't popped a coil doing this, but you can if you hold the button too long. If you do, what the heck. You would have replaced the coil anyway. Be sure that you keep enough spare coils around so that they are there when you need them. When I install a new coil I screw it on finger tight then use a knife blade in the slot to turn it another 1/4 to 1/2 turn until snug. Finger tight may not be enough to prevent intermittent contact. There's a silicone gasket that seals the head to the body. That gives you some leeway for tightening it without overly stressing the body.

When you dry burn the vivi nova you want to take off the silicon top off the coil so you can see down into where the coil is, and so you dont melt the silicon if you get to hot.

Great tips, and thanks everyone. I'm getting the STV nova which is metal ? That will be a tough enough to sit in my pocket?

guess I got everything I need to know for tomorrow! thanks a lot!
