If you get the shorty switch version, the whole legendary ring & switch shouldn't be of concern. The posi contact at the bottom of the mod is held in like this:I was just wondering if it had a threaded delrin disc inside the tube.
If it does, it's a no-go.
Delrin threads wear out fast in a switch.
The polymer housing around the positive pin is held in by way of friction. Recommended removal tools include a plastic hammer, a couple of sockets and possibly more. This video is what steered me away from the current crop of SOI mechanicals...
It's all good @Tom Forde...I still love SOI products...I just didn't want to go through all of that to remove and clean the positive.
Thanks TomThe positive pin can of course be cleaned in-place, but just slightly bothersome from the other side, where the battery touches the contact. Although nothing to make a big deal out off...
I'm intrigued about the "stable" 360 degrees 8-piece good-surface area contact the clutch makes and no pitting on battery and no hot-button. Maybe it also doesn't arc so much? I've noticed that hot-buttons also can come from arcs in low builds on a mechanical(abrubtly on/off) switch and not just from bad springs or switch-designs...
LolYeah, I get your concerns and also am not really a fan of that specific design-approach, but i'm still intrigued by the clutch-plate 8 point 360 degrees contact-points, though
Would love to see some VD test comparisons... Not just a single VD test, because that's not really useful, as we don't have similar cells and conditions...
Yes it was a crack at the manufacturer's weak attempt at sounding innovative yet "industrial chic".I'm sorry mateI don't have much knowledge about machining/tools/part-names etc... 'Clutch contact' is the manufacturers own wording...
" - 8-point Clutch Contact for maximum consistency and efficiency"
Edit: Oh, directed at the manufacturer, not me, I see nowSorry. Although maybe it was my mixup that was the wronged part...
I used to have an aqua, always wondered why the 510 came off like it did... after I got the 3d I was unscrewing the 510 to put it on my nemmi and it hit me like a freight train... I bought it when I thought HYBRID meant no 510 pin...too bad It got lost in the moveGP Heron, JM22 tube, GP Paps switch

I love 20x1mm hybrids as you can see
Never bothered with TOL or Elm. The dripper looks crappy and the SS JM tubes are much prettier to me than the TOL tubes.
The 3D atty doesn't interest me, but I wish they'd make more options for true Nemesis hybrid. Not holding my breath though.
Hybrid neans no 510 THREADS.I used to have an aqua, always wondered why the 510 came off like it did... after I got the 3d I was unscrewing the 510 to put it on my nemmi and it hit me like a freight train... I bought it when I thought HYBRID meant no 510 pin...too bad It got lost in the move
Mmm that's sexy. Nice black slam cap up top. Atleast with the fat dragon it looks like the slam cap.
My suggestion (I would call this set up a hybrid) SOISZ24 atty & mod - I'd say with a Legendary switch even with the added height because if you go legendary, you can go shorty switch, but if you go shorty you can't go legendary unless someone is willing to trade with you. But if you don't care about the legendary switch, the shorty comes in multiple colors, with the 24mm hybrid atty in matching colors. View attachment 542630 View attachment 542631Since this particular set up is a hybrid, the mod itself comes with a 510 top cap as well & all silver plated copper contacts. All of the ceracoated versions are copper as well.
