Don't you just hate it when you get a new mod,it put it all together and when you start vaping, You noticed something isn't right. It begins to feel warm, and then its hot. It happened to me and that's when I knew something isn't right. I put on some leather gloves, and I took the battery out. Good thing I didn't decide to look at it closely, cause if I did then poof a mist of hot gas would have covered my face and burned me. I trusted my instincts and tossed the battery aside, and as soon as I did, it vented.

As I inspected my mod, clone copper 4Nine, everything looked fine, but the damage had been done. The mod got so hot that the magnets were no longer magnetized. The mod is .... now, but I contacted the seller and he is making it right. He is pulling the mods off the market till he can make sure it won't happen again and he is sending me another one, a brass one that he modified to fix the problem. In addition he responded fast, really fast.

If all goes well I'll have a new mod soon and I'll let people who he is.

So trust you guts guys and gals, it will save you from getting your face burned off.

what batt were you using? have had a couple locked firing incidents, where one totally drained the batt dead, and one which melted a drip tip, but once every thing cooled down, the VTC4 still had 3.8 volts, and the mod no worse for wear, but the batts never were close to venting. Even with the 0.18 build.

Do you know what the problem was? Was it that you were using a flat top battery with a mod whose pin and threads are flush? That's what happened when I tried one out at a B&M :(

You can buy a vape fuse for your mechanicals which will alleviate the problem. I just purchased a new Fury S by Smoktech and it came with one.
Not pushing the mech., but I think it is a great part to have.

Don't those fuses cut off after 7 amps or so?? It's the biggest reason why I never bothered getting one, because on my dripper I'm pushing way more than just 7A :p

I thought about it and talked to the seller, who did right by me. He sent me a new brass 4Nine, turns out that the atty(RSST Duel Coil by SMOK) i was using has a 510 post that was a tad too long. As a result the dam thing auto fired when i put it all together. In addition I was using a battery that was on it's way out. It was a perfect combo that lead to a perfect storm. In this case it wasn't a storm it was a battery exploding. So don't forget guys to cycle your batteries every few months.

I do a few thing differently now, I always put the atty on first, so i would know if the thing auto fired because last time I didn't have the atty on, so I didn't notice the short until it was too late.
