Heylo my friends,

Just wanted to do a quick review on the new 4Nine Prime mod Clone by Infinite.

First off, I'd like to thanks vaping Walrus for hooking it up and getting it here in three days. You are awesome.

Okay, I've wanted this mod since the second it was released, however, I'm on a college budget and it doesn't allow for $200.00 authentic's. So when I saw the clone was released on VapingWalrus, I received an order confirmation email like magic. For those of you who don't know, it's basically the 4Nine with an added locking ring and a few changes in the switch.

Packaging

Like the mod itself, the packaging is a tiny little box with the Tarsius logo. I almost thought they had sent me the wrong thing, low and behold, it was all there! It comes tightly secured in protective foam, blemish free.

The Prime Mod

Size: I assume to accomodate for the new switch and it's housing they added about 3mm to the total mod length. The entire mod in 18650 mode comes in just over 81mm. One thing I noticed is that I purchase some Xtar VTC4 button top cells for my actual 4Nine and they do not fit in the Prime. There's about a 1.5mm gap where the threads won't screw down all the way. The only batteries I have that will fit are some authentic Sony's.

Performance: This is by far the hardest hitting mod I own. I'm going to have to up my resistance to calm it down a bit. No no, it's truly amazing.

Function: As I'm sure you all know, Tarsius is a fan of Hybrid connections and this is no different. The upper two pieces and top cap are identical to the 4Nine and are interchangeable with the 4Nine. The part where things begin to change is the lower piece and switch. They've done away with the magnetic button and free floating delrin piece in place of an actual switch. The switch has an actual contact (copper), an adjustable delrin piece for battery rattle, and a reverse threaded locking ring. One thing I'm not pleased about is that they did away with magnets completely in favor of a spring... I love magnets. There are no more cutouts to make room for your finger to press the switch as the new switch doesn't need it.

Form: This has always been a strong suit of the 4Nine's and Prime, their seams are seamless, their threading is smooth,, they're super portable, and when the atty and mod are together... Can you say flush?

Pro's: Beautiful in form, impeccable in function, added safety of a locking ring, battery rattly adjustment, hybrid connection, interchangeable upper parts with the 4Nine, retained recessed firing button, and hits hard.

Con's: No more magnets :(, large battery owners beware, and cleaning and polishing will be even more of a PITA.

Overall, the 4Nine Prime Mod Clone by Infinite is an awesome mod that I highly recommend if you can't afford the authentic. Hop on over to Vaping Walrus and get one because if you love the 4Nine, you will love this.

Thanks for taking the time to read. More photo's will be posted below.
