Question about the 18350s.

OK. I have a 5.0v mod that takes a pair of 18350s. I have a whole bunch of the blue ones. Their protection trips on my 5.0v regulated with the dual coils. I threw a couple of my 3.0v lifepo4 in my mod to make sure it wasn't the regulator. They work fine and my voltmeter said the load volatage was 4.7v and no load was 5.0v, so I'm pretty sure it's the batts.

Madvapes just recently started selling some trustfire flame 18350s. Any idea if they can put out the amps without tripping?

Like most other items in this industry, the protection varies from battery to battery a bit. We had the trustfire 18350's made for us to have and alternative for the ultrafires (ultrafire was the only other protected 18350 battery that I know of). In the 14500's they tend to be a little more forgiving with over current than ultrafire's but will have to test the 18350's and will report back..

I have four of the blue 18350 batts and they work fine at 5v with the dual coils. Must be those particular batteries, six.

Yeah. Next order, I'll get 4 or 6 of the trustfires and see how they do. I have a lot of 18350s around but other than the blue ones, I don't have matched sets... so I've been using my lifep04's in the 5.0v mod for the time being. The blue ones are great for what I usually use them for, but I haven't been able to use them stacked in that mod for the DCs.

The blue ones are really nice, though. They last a long time and have a really good drain curve. Normally, I either have an atty close to 2.0 ohms on my short RS for dripping or a 1.25 ohm DC. I can drip all day on one batt. The DCs drain them, but I've never needed more than one spare batt with me when I'm at work or out for the day.
