So, as much as I've learned so far I apparently fell asleep in the class about batteries. lol

I have a few generic ICR 26650's that work perfectly - take a charge to 4.2 and last all day.

Today I received from Amazon two Trustfire 26650 5000mah batteries and they are being problematic... a couple of things they are doing - one won't take a charge past 3.9v and the other tops out at about 4.15 while my generic ICR 26650's top out at 4.2-4.23v

The other thing is what is worrying me; today I made a single coil of 26g (9 wraps) at 1.0 ohms and put it in my Omega and fired it up at 22w on a sx220 mod. It fired perfectly and the clouds and flavor were spectacular. Everything is working fine... but I had been vaping on that battery all day so after I had the Trusfires charged I switched over to one of them... and the mod shut down. No warnings, just dead. The battery had to be removed and reinserted for it to power on again. Tried again, same result. Turned down wattage to 14.5 and put my Aqua on and it fires no problem (but seems to be draining a bit quicker than it should).

I tried it again a little later when the "good" Trustfire finally reached a full charge and it did the same thing that the first one did. Shuts the mod down at 22w and has to be removed to reset it. My other batteries work fine at that wattage. What gives?

The other question, as invariably I've come to the conclusion that these batteries are just ...., is a recommendation for brand and place to order decent reliable 26650's.

My guess is that the trust fire batteries are not high drain (high instant current draw) - I no longer use trustfire batteries (haven't for a few years ).

I don't "trust" them to "fire" - great for flashlights but not ecigs and I only vape at 8 watts. To be fair they were not designed for ecigs.

Largest battery I use is 18650 and the sony's VTC5's are awesome - don't know if there is an equivalent 26650.

I did a google quick search:

I probably wasn't very clear in the OP. The blue ICR's work wonderfully at any wattage I throw at them. It's the Trustfires (IMR, I believe) that won't handle anything above 20w...

Sorry good buddy but that Trustfire is an ICR (labelling) but then again so many of these are fakes, God only know what you have there.
