Trustfire Battery quality

First time buying a VV/VW device and have been looking at the Trustfire 18650 batteries from Pier 420. Are these batteries any good / safe?

In a word, no. The "fire" batteries are the bottom of the barrel in batteries, and the most counterfeited.
For batteries, look only for known brand name, from a reputable dealer, such as RTD Vapor. It's not worth it to go cheap on batteries.

Never trust a battery with FIRE in the name: Surefire, Trustfire, or Ultrafire. As said above, their quality is subpar and they over-rate their battery specs. Poor choice.

Battery Basics for Mods

Read the above blog and use only the batteries in the list of IMR and IMR/hybrid batteries. I recommend the red AW IMR batteries, but buy them only from reliable vendors like RTD Vapor, Lighthound, or Illumination Supply to avoid getting counterfeits. It may sound silly to stay away from batteries with the word 'fire' in the name, but both the vape and the flashlight communities know this is true.

Here's a chart of most of the latest safer batteries for vaping. There are some newer ones that are missing, but not many.
