So I received my Evic kit in the mail today, and I put the battery in the mod and it worked perfectly. I also received a Trustfire charger, 18350 tube mod, and a IMR Orange 18350 battery. So I set the evic up with the 18650 battery and I am vaping away, then I decided I wanted to check out the tube mod. I took the 18650 tube off with the battery and I stuck the 18650 battery in the charger while I put the tube mod on. I figured why not let it get a full charge before I drain it fully. The battery was on the charge maybe 2 hours.

The battery was getting low the 18350 battery so I took the tube mod off and tried the 18650 battery, and I got nothing.
Then I flipped the battery around, and still nothing. I was .... So I plugged the evic charger into the evic, and it came on fine. When I unplugged it it immediately turned off. Tried this again and same result. So I plug it back up and see if I can use it as a passthrough, the Evic would show the counter like it was vaping but there was no vape. I unplugged it and it shut off.

So what gives? Did the charger kill my perfectly working battery? I contacted the vendor via email and told them the situation, but I have not received a response.

Has anyone ever heard of something like this happening. I am hoping that I will get another battery out of this. As for the charger, I was a refund, because I will never use a trust fire again.

Whoa! You are using batteries you just got without charging them first, charging them 2 hours or less, putting them in in a PV in the wrong direction just to see what happens, plugging in and unplugging a passthrough cable...

First of all, what actually happens when you put the battery in the TrustFire charger? Exactly what color is the status LED on the charger: 1.) Before you put the battery in. 2.) After you put the battery in. and 3.) About three to five seconds - max. - after you put the battery in. That will at least give us a clue as to what the charger is doing and what the status of the battery is.

I am so sorry this happened to you. It sounds like your impatience has killed your PV, but I sure hope not! The first thing you should do is familiarize yourself with the equipment you plan to use. The 2nd is to charge all batteries BEFORE you use them. If you are not sure which way to put in the batteries, ASK your vendor, or even here.

So, at this point, charge your batteries. Relax, and figure out how to use your PV while you wait for them all to charge fully. Then start over by putting a fully charged battery in the correct way and see what happens. Even experienced people can make the mistake of inserting the batteries incorrectly, in fact I just heard someone blew their kick doing it - and they realized right away their mistake. You really have to be patient and use care with your equipment, just like with any other thing that you are putting batteries in.

Usually there's a "+" sign on the positive end, and a "-" sign on the negative end.

But if there isn't, look at the writing on the battery. Westerners read from left to right. If the writing "starts" on one end, and the writing "ends" at the other end, it's a safe bet the end where the writing starts is the positive end of the battery.

The Evic battery does not have a positive or negative end. Both sides are flat top, one has a larger circle while the other side is smaller. I would guess the smaller side is the positive end.
Yes it does have a positive, just not a button top. The smaller, isolated circle is the positive.

Before green: after: red and stayed red for the entire time.

Ok then. That's what it's supposed to be doing. Since it's staying on red that means the charger is acknowledging the presence of a battery, the battery is depleted, and the battery is ok. If the charger had changed back to green in very short order it would have meant only two things: The battery was already fully charged or... the battery was so stuffed that the charger was shutting down and refusing to charge it at all.

A TR001 isn't exactly high technology in the charger field. Large capacity batteries can take 8+ hours to charge in that thing. You need to be more patient. Under any circumstances, I don't know of any battery that will charge in a TR001 in only two hours.

The battery is the Panasonic battery that came with the kit the charger is trust fire. I did get the battery to work but I have not seen a green light ever showing the battery is fully charged. In fact, I charged the battery to 100 percent using the evic charger then stuck it in the trust fire for an hour (light was still red) and put it back in the evic and the battery was at 98 percent without ever firing it in the evic

I found that the eVic will not fully charge a battery to 4.1-4.2v - even when it reads "100%". I have a trustfire charger too and when I put the evic "100%" charged battery into it, the light will read red and continue charging. From that point it will take a while to "top up" the charge.

The thing to know about that trustfire charger is the reason it takes so long to complete a charge, is that it slows down near the end of a cycle as you're approaching 4v. (apparently this is easier on the battery and will theoretically prolong its life).

Therefore: a fully "evic charged" battery will still take another 2 hours or so to completely charge to 4.1-4.2v on the trustfire.
