TrustFire TR-001 help?

Ok what is the correct way to do this..
Don't laugh..
Put batteries into the charger and then plug into the wall or ?? plug into the wall then add batteries?
the reason I asked is I had batteries in the unit and started to plug it in and it sparked8-o
Scared the eeeek out of me.. So I want to know what the correct way is???
I Dont like getting shocked....

I was freaking out to say the least...still shaking.. IIICCKKKSSSSS...

Please advise..

I don't think it really matters.

I switch batteries all the time with the unit on and I've never had any problems.

If it was a small spark it was probably caused from just completing the circuit. I've had appliances do that from time to time.

Try plugging the charger in first without the batteries.
