Hi,

my TR001 charger since yesterday keeps the red light on, always, on one of the two charging slots, w/o a battery being inserted I mean.

yesterday it had just finished charging an 18650 in that slot, the led was green (the other one was not in use), then when I removed the battery from the slot the led turned back to red - with no battery inserted! - and remained like that ever since.

I've tried moving the slot slider a few times, unplugging the charger from the mains socket for some hours, but to no avail: the led on that slot remains on red anyway.

Questions: is there anything I can do for fixing it? And more importantly, should I trust the charger again for charging my 18650??

Thanks!

If the charger is acting flaky in any way then I wouldn't trust it at all.
Charging lithium batteries is not something to take unnecessary risks with.
Thats why I have a Pila charger.
If you don't want to splurge for a Pila then check out an xtar charger (~$20), they have received very good reviews.
Do some research, you don't have to look very hard to find people that have had serious problems with Trustfire chargers, flame, smoke, explosion, etc...

thanks.

actually, measured with a multimeter, the charger seems still to operate correctly (4.2V on both slots, w/o load)

the only practical problem is the red led always on, thus I wouldn't know when a battery is properly charged.

I do agree with you about the Pila charger (BTW, 'pila' means battery in Italian :)), but unfortunately it ain't practical for me... finding it in Italy is almost impossible while importing it from the States would mean more than doubling its - already not cheap - cost.
