agreed. The post was to provide factual information that could be used by the vaping community to argue the case of the overall safety of the technology, which to me is really not as important as the common sense conclusion that it is MUCH safer than smoking.
The surprising and seemingly off-handed refuting of the presented information by retired1 actually emphasized the benefit of concise factoids that can be discussed on their merit without a lot of the white noise generated by putting too much in one post. The "liking" of the baseless attempt to debunk such a basic fact was even more confusing. I certainly have nothing against differing opinions, but expect to see at least an attempt to back up statements with information that interested parties can use to expand their knowledge of the subject.
All of the analogies of other potentially dangerous common activities the public engages in are assumed to be understood.
What one does with a simple kitchen knife can have drastically wide ranging results. This doesn't mean the Fed should regulate, tax or BAN knives!
What we do with it is really our business unless and until reasonable and innocent people start getting hurt due to the negligent acts of others.
