I am not a newbie, but struggle with deciding the nicotine level when trying new juices. I typically vape 6mg juices if the vg/pg ratio is 70/30 or max vg. 50/50 juices I do 3mg. However, this doesn't always work out for me. The other day I ordered a juice from Cyclops Vapor. The vg/pg ratio is 65/35. Kind of a weird ratio imo. I chose 6mg because I vaped some of their other juices at 3mg and they were too weak for me. Anyway, the juice I received in 6mg is way too harsh. Now I have a whole bottle of juice sitting here that I will never vape.

My problem is I need a decent throat hit, not a gag me TH....just a little thump on the inhale. There are other juices out there that claim they are 70/30 vg/pg that I have no problem vaping at 6mg, while others I can't. On the other hand, if I order a bottle of juice that has no TH at all, then there is another wasted bottle.

My question for you all is how do you decide the nic level when buying a new juice?

I know some will say, "if it's too strong then buy a bottle of 0mg to cut it or a higher nic level to add to it. That's fine if I really really love the new juice. But let's be honest, I am difficult to please when it comes to flavor. And who wants to spend more $$ on a flavor that is just so,so?

I appreciate your input on this: How do I choose the correct nicotine level when there are so many different variables that affect throat hit?

Cheers,

Stevo

Well, you might not like my suggestion, but if you're as you say "difficult to please when it comes to flavor" I'd learn how to DIY. That way you can have whatever flavor you want, exactly the way you want it as far as taste and strength, and at the exact nic level that provides the amount of TH that you're after.

It's really not hard to learn how to do it. Lots of people are learning now, especially with the FDA garbage that came out early last month. Premade juice most likely won't be available in near the varieties, nor quantities, that it is now. Plus, the price is probably going to go up quite a bit for what will be available. DIY is a win-win in every possible way!

True. My only problem w DIY is keeping it pure. In addition, I have little one's at home. I can't really make juice in my kitchen. I do fill my tank over the sink in the kitchen but that's it. I'm a little too paranoid to mix my own.

I have the same problem at times, because some juice is just right for me, and others are just too harsh to fully enjoy at the same nic levels. I tend to stay low at 3mg, because if a juice is too weak for me I can still vape it, but I have problems finishing juices that are plain too harsh.

Yes if it's too weak, I still can vape it but flavor alone doesn't do it for me. I need both flavor and TH.
