I have halfway converted my mother. I keep all of her devices cleaned and filled. At first she was all for it at the house but I think she started have the aches and pains you can sometimes get when not smoking and gave it up.

My father tried one time, coughed and that was the end of that. I offered to do everything for them. All they would have to do is keep their batteries charged but its not working.

While you still may be semi new to vaping, my suggestion would be to grab him an affordable setup, and a high quality juice in a flavor you know he would enjoy or perhaps a couple, and let him have a go at it. Even if he doesn't convert in the end, YOU can always use the equipment, and at least you can say you tried. Just try and make it as enjoyable as you can for him, and maybe he will give it a shot. Before purchasing my initial 808 "cigalikes" and then the ego's I have now, I tried the blu e-cigs before that, definately wasn't worth it to me. So maybe even if you can get his girlfriend to make the switch, she'll convince him! :)

Hey everyone! I'm still semi new to vaping but I know that it is much better for you than just smoking regular cigarettes. I just cannot convince him to switch over. I know his girlfriend has a blu e-cig but she doesn't use it either. Any suggestions?

I used to be a fairly heavy smoker (1.5 to 2 packs a day) and someone who hotboxed them. I used to draw very heavy on an analog and still do somewhat on a PV. My 70 yr old mom knows this. I just stopped analogs and started vaping one day. Just seeing me stop analogs on a dime after 33 yrs of smoking and doing nothing but vape, without the withdrawals, was enough to convince her that they actually work. My mom has been vaping without smoking any analogs for over a month now. She loves it. I've also converted several coworkers and friends the same way. Sometimes, just showing people that it works, by example, is the most convincing proof that one can offer.

If his primary example of effective vaping is his girlfriend's experience, it's reasonable why he won't try it. Blu is one of the weakest/worst models on the market.

First, he has to want to quit smoking for vaping to work. Second, when he is ready to try it, provide him with a better model PV such as a Kgo and eliquid in the 18mg - 24mg nic strength.

Just what Spike stated, you keep vaping and being happy!!! By causing a confrontation of sort, that gives them incentive to keep on burning. More than one way to skin a cat. My wife, who's smoke regulary since she was 15 (now 46) didn't jump on my bandwagon immediately. I didn't coerce, argue, or care (see this is the skinning part ;)) Just keep on doing what you are doing, believe me they notice, they think of what you are doing all the time, even back you up with the vaping. They love you, take it from a 56 year old man, dad, husband.....they know. By setting an example you are doing your part.

I'm trying the same with my mum (70 years, severe COPD, but still smoking...).
The way I do it now, is by not forcing her into anything, however I am making sure her current vaping supply is up to date.
Also, I make sure I have something new to taste when I get there, and vape around her all the time.

It is working ; while she initially only wanted small thin ecigs, she's recently requested me to get a bigger battery for her, and yesterday she received the Ego Twist. Next stop, Provari? :p
We're getting there, but she herself determines the pace. Eventually she'll make the switch ; she already went down from 10 cigs a day to 2, and replaced the other 8 by vaping.
That alone already is very positive.

I kinda had the same issue with my dad. He was always asking me questions about vaping and I answered him the best of my knowledge, and that got him interested...so my next step was to get him to get online and start reading up on different batteries, delivery systems, etc(left juice out, that is a whole new monster)...then 1 day I came over to his house and told him I ha to run some errands and asked him to come with me...first place we went was a b&m here in dallas called goodvapes....I figured since the seed of vaping was already planted in his head that all I needed to do was get him to a place where he could actually see the devices and ask questions and they let him sample juices and different batteries and products in his hands....he bought an ego-k kit and some clearos and now he is 17 days vape free!

You may want to consider talking to him next time and letting him know that an ecig is Tobacco Harm Reduction and not necessarily a quit smoking method. Let him know that if he decides to smoke and vape it's ok and you'll still love him no matter what he decides.

No one wants to be forced to do anything, if people "listened" to others there would be no more smokers in the world. Maybe if he feels less pressured to give up smoking, he might consider giving vaping a try. It is not an all or nothing at all issue. And if he does vape once in a while, cheer him for the cigarettes he didn't light up and not make him feel that he should drop them altogether. That will come with time and it has to be his decision.
