I've been vaping on a protank 2 and a vapeonly mini bcc on a ego-v VV battery (3-6v) and thinking of moving up to a Genesis type RBA that I've researched would work with ego type batteries, so far I've narrowed it down to Smoktech RSST and UD AGT. I like the Pyrex tank on the AGT but the RSST is cheaper (RSST on Ebay is around $20 and the AGT around $30) I'm planning on using silica doubled up and between 1.3-2ohm kanthal (30/32awg). Any opinions on my options? I like the size of these as they are similar in size to the protanks which i will use the sleeve and drip tip from my pt2 as well and am trying to stay away from smaller rbas like the mini Phoenix etc...thanks.

I don't think you'll have much luck at 1.3 ohms on an Ego.

If you're going for silica you have some advantage, in that it should act as less of a heat sink than stainless steel.

But you'll still be asking far too much of a battery that size I'd wager... People do use them at 1.6 ohms, but it shortens their life significantly. 1.8 and above is more typical.

I would choose neither - gennies are a pain to build - get a Tobeco kayfun lite+ clone on ebay for $35-$45 and save yourself hours of frustration building, tipping to get it to wick, wiping down the leaks etc

by the way just in case you didn't notice I am not a fan of gennies at all - I have $30+ of mesh and SS cable sitting around doing nothing and pile of hair next to my coil building desk

but of course it is your choice

The RSST is a great tank to learn how to build on, but not the best performer when it comes to the actual vaping. Like Dakota Jim above, I prefer the kayfun family of RTA's as they're easy to build on, give great vapor and flavour, and leak a lot less (important to me as I'm on the go for 8-10 hours per day).

Also, do yourself a favour and get a beefier battery to run it on, and lastly, make sure you're fully conversant in all the safety protocols surrounding rebuildables.

You have picked a couple of very good affordable atty's to start with. I own both and enjoy using them. Of the 2 I prefer the AGA-T2 most, I usually avoid plastic tanks when possible. But, I have never had an issue with the RSST tank. I have recently added a Russian 91% and Tobeco KFL clone to the rotation. The Tobeco KFL clone is in your price range and merits consideration as well.

Thanks everyone for the input, i do like the kayfun lite, will my pt2 sleeve for up to it diameter wise?

Probably but it's 22mm so will be bulky on an Ego, if it was me I'd buy a dripper to learn to coil etc as dirt cheap and put money saved towards a beefier mod even if just an MPV or the likes and then buy an RBA the AGA-3 is a very good tank for cheap.

The rocket is fine if you don't mind the takky look.

I'm a fan of UD quality, materials and finish. I love glass tanks, silicone washers and SS. Plastic tanks; not so much. Titanium; not lucky enough to try yet.

My favorite is UD IGO-F; highest quality vapor, can blind fold drip from bottle, holds 1.5 ml.
2nd UD AGI; only $11 at 101vape, looks great, benefits from hot spring delete in tank mode under roughly 2 ohms.
3rd UD AGA-TD; works out of the box.
4th UD AGA-T2; I like better after deck drilling.

Sorry, haven't had the pleasure to try AGT.

KFL clones

They are all good places to start. You can build coils with an ego but I might recommend an upgrade in your Pv. I think you will see a huge increase in vape quality when you upgrade, but get one - try it out and if you have a buddy or a vape shop, maybe ask to see a few devices or use some? It's always how I find out what I want next.

Also i noticed some rocket rbas (KF 3.1 confess)on Ebay, are these an option for me? They look the same but are cheaper

I would stay away from the Rocket KF clone. The coil mount screws are tiny. The center post is coated brass and really easy to break. Mine broke on day two. Now I have a fancy paper weight as the center post costs more to order and ship than a whole new Rocket from Fasttech.
