So I use clearomizers.....vape only bcc, mini vivi nova etc....i am very new to vaping (about three weeks in and still trying to learn all the ins and outs :) )
now I see these tanks with cartos in them, what if any difference is there compared to what i use and are they easier or harder to maintain etc. for example I see talk from got vapes about the new pheonix raven.

details please and pics are even better, I am a very visual person.

Hi and welcome. I'm new to the site, so my info isn't much......but here is a link to PBusardo Tutorial Videos. Go thru all his videos, he has tons of different items, including what the differences are.

A PBusardo Video - Beginners Guide to E-Cigs and E-Cig Tech - YouTube

I love my Vivi Nova tanks, but being new I can't say much more then that. lol :)

I have not tried cantos and tanks, mostly because I find flavours a little muted with carts, I went from cleromizers/novas to genesis type rEbuildables and straight into mesh U wicks, they blew my mind on performance.
Put one of these onto a variable wattage battery and the world is your oister.
I could go on about flat kanthan and low resistances, but that's probably a bit too much for the moment.
I will say that I'm only a few weeks ahead of you in this new world.

There are two other great videos from Pbusardo here:

Skip to 23:15 on the second video for all the good stuff about getting your carto into a tank.

I much prefer carto tanks to clearomizers, mainly because I find the flavour to be so much better with cartos. I've tried the Vivi, the Kanger T3 and Stardusts. All of them mute flavour to varying degrees. In my opinion, cartos are about as close as you can get (in terms of flavour) to dripping without going down the RBA route. But then I was a carto guy to begin with and, as with most things in vaping, your mileage may vary! Having said that, the Smoktech DCTs are pretty cheap to begin with - so you don't have much to lose! And don't be put off by having to punch your cartos to use them in a tank, you can buy pre-punched.

Thanks, yeah I have seen several of his videos, Very informative. I will see if I can find the ones on carto tanks vs clearo

Woot! My noobie self, bumped your thread up. I've noticed not many Vet Vapors are online right now, but once they do, they can really help you out. I got frustrated, but everyone politely and patiently came to my rescue!!

You found flavours muted with cartos, Mark? Compared to clearomizers? It's not the first time that I've heard someone say that, but it never ceases to amaze me when I do hear it! In my experience, the flavour reproduction from cartos (even a middle of the road one) is so much better than you typically get from clearomizers. I think one of the main reasons that clearomizers are so popular is because they're just so darn easy. People like PBusardo and (to a lesser extent) GrimmGreen recommend them because they know that new vapers don't want to have to have to fiddle with the kit they buy - they just want to stick something on their battery and vape it!

When I hear someone say that the flavour they got from a carto was bad, I always think it's more than likely one of two things:

1. A bad carto (the quality control on these things can be a bit...meh)
2. User error - choosing the wrong carto for your device, not priming properly, flooding the carto, etc.

I really don't want to start a carto vs clearo war. Everyone's experience with these things is different, but, just because a couple of people had a bad experience, doesn't mean you will. These things are cheap - why not just try it and see?

OK I confess I just played with the first prefilled cartos I got and refilled them myself, no tank, no idea of resistance, basic batteries.
So I can't say I have explored them enough to have given a valid opinion, sorry.
From there I got some Ego batteries and clearomizers and the improvement was so dramatic I just never went back to try again.
Now I'm playing with a Vamo and a genesis AGA T and having the vape of my life, can't see much point in going back to try cartos again.
