Hello, new member here. 30, smoked about 1-1.5 PAD for ~18 years, quit for 2.5 years back in 2005-2007 due to kidney stone problems (and the pain meds with the cigarettes made me sick). Then quit again for about 8 months 2010-2011 with the help of a Tornado (eGo), picked up the analogs again due to being sent to training for work and trying to stay awake, and the vape just didn't cut the mustard, and went straight back to 1.5 PAD.

So trying again, and hopefully for the last time. Only really used 510 atty's and carts the last time, and still cannot stand the taste of burning filler. Makes me want to smoke a cigarette to get that taste out of my mouth. So this time, my wife and I are both trying the 510 tanks. We like it a lot better then those old carts, only issue so far is occasional leaking, but only on one set (atty and tank) so I may have boogered up the tank trying to refill it. I have since went to filling the tanks with a syringe, so they don't get messed up like that again. Picked up an Ego-C pass-thru as I'm at a computer most of the time anyways.

I also decided to give some DCT V2's a try, but for some reason I keep getting dry hits and burning filler taste, may abandon that idea. Just ordered some stardusts and a Nova last night. Will see how it goes, hopefully I don't lapse again, just have to keep at it I guess.

If it sticks this time, I may get a VV setup, just don't want to spend the money if it isn't going to stick. Oh, and found out that the old Ego batteries don't dribble well. That's 2 I've lost so far due to broken solder joints on the PCB.

Anyways, hello from Tucson.

Yeah, using 24ml at the moment. May be a bit high, I also have some 18 that I'm going to try out. I smoked Ultra-Lights last, I slowly weaned my nic down on analogs over the years. Used to smoke Newports and Marlboro Red 100's when I was in the army. Then stopped the 100's, then down to lights and menthol lights, and then on down to Ultra lights. I don't have cravings at this point, I think the key for me is making sure that I get enough spares that I don't run out when something dies. Having the pass-thru helps immensely, but I vape a lot more then I smoke, as I only smoked outside or in the car. When at work, I still go outside to vape, but at the house, I may sit and watch TV or be on the computer and vape constantly.

I don't dare go much higher on nic at this point, I finished a DCT 3.5 tank yesterday in about 12 hours, so much more and I'm at serious risk of getting nic-sick.

Yeah, this time, I went a little more hardcore. Have 3 working Ego 1000mah batteries, an Ego 1000mah pass-thru, 8 510-t attys, 14 510-t tanks, 2 DCT V2 Tank Cartos, and about 150 ml of juice. So even if I get in a pinch, I should be able to get through a day or 2. Of course a lot of this is a shared pool with my wife, however she does have her own dedicated batteries, simply because she doesn't like the 1000 mah batteries, and prefers 650s, so she has 2 of those.

When you are first quitting IMO there is no too high of a nic level, after a couple weeks of 0 smokes then step down the nic

Also I have tried almost everything and the vivi nova and vision ego aka stardust with replaceable heads are what I use, plus the heads are cheap and interchangeable.

Matt, that was the same reason I picked up the stardusts and the nova. They should be here sometime next week.

I successfully quit before by vaping high nic, and eventually just got to the point that if I forgot my PV, it wasn't a big deal, I didn't start nicking out like I did when I smoked. Right before I lapsed to analogs, I was on the same 15ml bottle of 12mg mountain dew for like 2 months. I still have like half that bottle at the house. In fact that was the juice I used at first when I started vaping again until I could get some more juice.

I can quit, I know I can, I just don't know what possessed me to start with the analogs again after 8 months.

Don't kick yourself too hard. I think you would be surprised just how many people here on the ECF have Fallen Off after thinking they had Cigarettes Beat.

For Many People, all it takes is Smoking One Cigarette and it's off to the Gas Station to buy a Pack.

Have you read this thread?

It's long but there is a lot of Good Advise in it.

Hang in there.
