Im curious to try a kayfun style atomizer. Everyones doing it. They all look like their so happy and having so much fun. I want to play too.
I need to ask a few questions first.

Whats available in the states? How much? kayfun lite 2.0? Russian ? Or other? What the best? Second best? Why? Are the clones any good?
Basically I need to be brought up to speed on the kayfun style atomizers so I know what to buy. I know I can read the 500 page thread but I have to work today, and tomorrow. If somone would spread the knowledge I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I have the kayfun lite and I bought it from intaste.de along with a provari ring.. it was $105 shipped. I am very very very happy with it :D

The kayfun lite isn't in stock but the newer version, the kayfun lite plus is, and it's the same price. The only difference is air flow control and maybe something else (can't remember) but I'm happy with the air flow on the one I have so I won't be ordering another. I will have the russian 91% here tomorrow. It's around the same price. As for clones... I don't know. Fasttech sells one for around $13 but I can't attest to the quality.. if it's anything like the did clones, the quality is so bad that they aren't worth it to me. (flimsy insulators that can easily cause hard shorts)

I'm not a clone snob... I'd much rather pay $30 for the rsst than $100+ for the AC9 that it's modeled after. I've heard good and bad things about the clones. Discount vapers sells the kayfun clone for around $65.. it's supposed to be an exact replica but there again, I don't know, don't have one to compare.

As for which is better, the russian 91% or the kayfun lite plus.. I don't know but I will tomorrow LOL I've heard they vape exactly the same. They are easy to build and the vape is outstanding.

I hope I helped some. :)

edit... vaportekusa got their supply of russian 91%s in and they are selling them for $86 (when you put it in the cart) just fyi

I have the older clone made by dream and I'll add a +1 to those of us that like the vape on these things. There's just something about the reduced chamber and air up under the coil that works really well.

As far as the clones go, I've seen a lot of good reviews on the russian as mentioned above. It's a high quality china made clone but it's only a few dollars cheaper that a real kayfun. The rocket from fasttech is a lot cheaper but it's made from chromed brass and aluminum, and has a metal screw on mouth piece.

I'm not sure about what's available stateside, but if you don't mind a longer ship time and can hold off until next month, fasttech is supposed to have a couple of kayfun clones coming in.

ChinaBuye has the kayfun lite clone. Just search chinabuye for kayfun.

I have the Russian 91% and love it best tank atomizer I use. There are a lot of sites that sell them ,KFL etc the problem is they sell fast especially at a good price. Don't know about FT ones I don't buy from them. Just check around but don't fall for the pre-order sellers there is a lot of that going around now. One guy always advertise they will have them but he keeps moving the date up and up....just want hits to his site.

Thanks for the info. I've been doing my research for the last couple days and I'm going to go with the Russian 91% or KFL+. I just tried the vaportek site but when I put the Russian in my Cart it says out of stock. Bummer. They do go out of stock fast. I may keep my eyes open till Black Friday and to see of I can't snatch one up on sale. I've read/watched reviews on originals and clones and I must say they did a bang up job on the Russian 91%.
I've never bought from fasttech and probably never will. I'm not against buying a clone but I've yet to see one I've wanted.
China has a history of cutting corners when making these clones. They have a history of using metals not safe for daily use and putting cheap coatings on them to pass them off. They've been doing it with children's toys for years. Look back at all the china lead toy recalls. There's lots of them. I work in a shop that does a fair amount of fabrication and I see the price of stock metals. High quality food grade metals are not cheap. Just the materials in a Russian or KFL+ cost more than $13. So how does china sell them for $13? They use sub-par materials and plate it in chrome. When the cheap chrome plating chips, cracks or rubs off you have an unsafe material exposed. Can we say HEAVY METAL POISONING? I do not know for sure the metal underneath the rocket is unsafe. I do not know for sure it is safe either. I just know chinas history for using unsafe materials.
Heavy metal poisoning goes well beyond lead. Most metals can poison you. Zinc, copper, brass, etc can all poison you if absorbed through the skin, inhaled or ingested.
For this reason ill stay away from most clones. Now I just need to find a KFL+ or Russin 91% in stock at a reasonable price.

I got my R91 yesterday from vaportekusa (after a 3 month wait) and I really really like it. I wasn't too sure at first because the platform was loose but I figured out the problem fixed it (or tightened it) and it is very nice. I like it just as much as my kfl... and the air control and adjustable 510 post is an added bonus. :)

I too would be afraid of the $13 ft clone.

I have 2 of the Rockets, a KFL, and just received one of the new KFL + that I'll hopefully get around to playing with today. It's true that the Rockets are nowhere near the original in build quality, but they rebuild the same and perform almost as well. They are great as an inexpensive model to try, before you put down the investment in a KFL or Russian.

Looks like vaporking has the russian. Kebo Russian 91% rebuildable atomizer system

I could be wrong but I'm under the impression that the russian is a china made clone of the kayfun lite with air control added. (Which the lite + now has.)

Looks like eciggity has the ehpro kayfun lite clone. Kayfun Lite Clone - Eciggity

Thanks JD1!!!!!

I ordered the Russian from Vaporkings. Ive been looking for one in stock sub $100 all morning. With the coupon code(vkbc) I paid $84 shipped. Thats a great deal. Ive never ordered from vapor kings before but they have a good reputation. Im super stoked!! Ill report back when im vaping on it.

I have a genuine KFL and an EhPro KFL clone from Eciggity. Tbh the clone performs damn near the same albeit with a slightly tighter draw. The clone came with the usual QC problems. Mine had a clogged air intake (from plastic burrs off the insulator) and the build deck needed to be tightened. But for half the price of a genuine unit, 10 minutes with a screwdriver was well worth it. I can't honestly imagine ever needing to upgrade from this type of tank system. Flavor, vapor, and convenience is unsurpassed. If you do get one, search that huge kayfun lite thread for some build videos by Vapdivrr 28gauge kanthal micro coils with cotton ball wicks are the truth

The lite, lite+, and R91 all fill from the bottom via a Phillips screw. Filling from the top is more trouble than its worth. The chimney has a tendency to come loose when unscrewing the top cap and you can't get good performance when filling the device all the way to the top. You need a little bit oof air in the tank to maintain a vacuum. Now that afc is available on the newer lit versions, I would stay away from the more costly full versions. That fill valve is a buggy pita

I'd like to say thanks for those of you replying here. I'm in the market for KFL style atomizer also. I'm curious which is better, the EHPRO made clone or the TOBECO made clone?

I've got a rocket on order from FT, but that probably won't be here until Christmas out new year! :( the deals on FT are great but the shipping delay is ridiculous....but that's another thread. ;)

So I've seen both KFL styled atomizer from those 2 China manufactures, any comment on quality of either?

Russian 91 is a knockoff of the kayfun.. and made in China where the kayfun in germany.. build quality of the 91 is suppose to be in par with the kayfun so you cant go wrong with either one.. I would have gotten one of each for myself and wife.. but couldnt find the Russian 91 and ended up with 2 kayfun lite plus.. ended up getring from cloud 9uk.. was a bit more but its done.. had it in my cart at waperev a few days ago and when I finally decided they were sold out..

I should have my Russian in the next day or two. I'm excited!! I've been watching all the build videos on youtube. I saw something while watching the videos I don't understand. In this video by svoemesto he has a kayfun with three tanks all different colors and stacked on the same unit. What gives? You can even see two chimneys. Anyone know whats going on with that? I don't speak German or I would know.

You can see it at the 17:00 min mark.

You can buy extension pieces, I think an elongated chimney section also. With those, you can make a 15ml capacity Kayfun. I think there are videos out there showing this off. Looks pretty large though. LOL.
