Hey guys, I've been cold turkying it for the past 2 days. Im a pack a day smoker, and i've been smoking for the past 8 years. For the past two days I've been reading up on vaping and I came to conclusion that I want to try VV mod. I want to try out the Lavatube but im not sure which accessories to get. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you all!

Lavatube is a good starter mod because the interface is very easy. I would highly recommend getting a high resistance atomizer and 5 or 6 smaller bottles of juice you are interested in trying, and a bigger bottle of a cigarette flavor you are used to (tobacco, menthol, etc.) Also get some high resistance boge cartomizers like a 2.7 to 3.5 that you can fill when you find a juice that you can vape all day. You can find boge 5 packs at almost every site listed on this forum. Juice is very easy to find as well, but it took me awhile to find my go to places. Try out altcig.com, vaporbomb.com, and pinkspotvapors.com for some of the best juice ive found. If you have any questions, feel free to ask anyone here, as this forum has helped me A lot when I started out!

I have a Lavatube. One of the best things about it is that you don't need a bunch of different resistance cartos. All you need is 3 ohms. That will give you the full range of voltage without exceeding the 2.5 amp limit.

Get 3ohm Boge Cartomizers. Get a couple of 3ohm atomizers and a couple drip tips. You can drip into the atomizers to find out if you like a flavor before you commit a cartomizer to a flavor you don't even like. Cartomizers can be cleaned, but it's really not even worth bothering and it does't work right half the time anyway.

The standard resistance cartomizers are from about 2.5 to 3.2 ohms, but there's not real use in getting 2.5ohm cartos. You can get all the power settings the machine can produce by using 3ohms and adjusting the voltage to your taste.

Get plenty of cartos and save your $$ for juice samples. That's the hardest thing to nail down. When you find some juice you are really happy with, then spend money trying tanks and clearomizers and all that other stuff. Unless you know what kind of juice, the VG/PG ratio you prefer, you don't know how any of that stuff is going to work for you. Boges work with pretty much anything you put into them. They're cheap, reliable and consistent. That's what you need at this point.

BTW, apolloecigs.com has about the best prices on a Lavatube. They call it the V-Tube. Use the discount code "Thankyou" and you can get 10% off your order, free shipping and a one year warranty. They also have 3ohm cartos available. If you can wait about 2 weeks, they have a stainless steel model shipping then that's to die for. Don't forget a spare battery.

I tried quitting with the gum a couple of times and always started again.
The first three days were horrible, really intense.
The next two weeks were really hard.
The first month was irritating.
I missed smoking for a year.
Then I felt done.

The things that helped the first two weeks.
-Swimming in a pool (the smell of chlorine made the smell of cigarettes really gross)
-Sprinting around the block (especially at night...that adrenaline rush helped me sleep)
-Not drinking for the first week.
-Eating olives and other vinegary things.
-Watching a lot of crappy tv.

I think it is easier to quit in the spring. The days are getting longer but it's not as nice out.

I have the Volcano LT, so that's what I'm going by. Starter kit will get you started with everything EXCEPT some juice (VERY vital), cartos if you swing that way, and another pretty drip tip since strong flavors stick in them. Their red is more pink, but I love it :). The white/black swirl is hot, too. I use the Tube Tank with cartos inside. My cartos are only 1.7 ohm single-coil because my 3.0 ohm single-coils all died in 3 days and I went with another company for the cartos as it ...... me off. So far, so good. The 3.0 ohm single-coil IS recommended. I don't like dripping, which is what the high-resistance atomizer that's included in the kit is for. You might like it. There's a Volcano in CA, but I don't know where you are exactly, so that's no help. I try all of their products before I buy at the local mall. Good luck!!

I went from an ego to a lavatube and really liked it. I only used it with my single coil cartos. It didn't play well with the dual coil which I use some so I went ahead and got the provari v2. It works well with my dual coils as well as the single coils. My lavatube is a great backup and used occasionally with my tank and a single coil carto. It is a cheap entry to try the world of VV vaping and it seems once you go there it is hard to go with anything else. Good luck!

I think the Lavatube is a good value and provided you understand it's limitations, it might be just what you want. The thing is that when compared to it's significantly more expensive counterparts, it's current limitation is pretty low. So, you can't run dual coils on it very well. If you can stand everyone raving about DCs (they aren't really as great as all that) when you can't use them, it's fine.
