Trying to Quit Smoking

Be careful with the clearomizers. Some liquids are tank crackers. I recommend the Aerotank or a Protank. They are glass so you can use any liquid and either should fit on your 1100mah vv batt, though they will be a bit top heavy. Might try the Protank 2 Mini. I have 3 of them.
the Guilty Party here usually have a citrus or cinnamon flavoring in them. The flavoring should be Food grade so it wont hurt you (aside from an allergy) but the plastic cant handle it.

Hi I was a 2 pack a day smoker for over 25 years and today I am on day 30 without a cigarette. One thing that really helped me was using 24 mg of nicotine in my juice. Because I was a heavy smoker I was able to comfortably quit this way without withdrawl. The day I got my vaporizer was the day I quit smoking completely. During times of extreme stress cravings came but I just vaped instead. Another thing that helped me was where ever I used to smoke, driving ect. I vaped instead. I brought my vaporizer with me like I would bring a pack of cigarettes with me. And for the first week I pretty much vaped constantly. Their is so much fun you can have with vaping I now find it far more satisfying than smoking ever was. I now make my own e juice for pennies on the dollar. It's quite simple. Flavors are only about 1.00.dollar. so their is much to explore! Have fun and you can do it! I never ever thought I could quit smoking but I did and you can too. Honestly with vaping it's easy! I think you will be suprised. Welcome and good luck!

1. No matter how much you want to don't pick up a cig. Pick up your vape instead.
2. Commit to yourself.
3. It takes about 3 weeks to let the Cigs go.
4. Make sure your nicotine is strong enough.
5. I've found the tobacco flavors to be unpleasant. Menthols seemed to give me the best throat hit, which is what you will be looking for as a new quitter.
6. Enjoy the new world of variety you have discovered. Before long you will marvel at it.

I started vaping 2 weeks ago and as soon as I started using it I haven't picked up one analog since. I was a PAD smoker for 12+ and never made it more than 24 hours the few times I tried to "quit." Yes, there have been some trials in giving up the stinkies, but I already feel SO much better. I didn't tell myself as soon as I started vaping that I would quit smoking. It just kinda happened that way. When I feel the urge for a smoke, I vape! I started off using 18 mg nic juice and just bought some 12 mg nic juice to see how that goes. Like I said, I am brand new to this, but loving it so far. From what I've read everyone is different. Some people smoke/vape for awhile to ease themselves off analogs. I just know if I have one analog it will turn into 2,3, 10, 20... So I choose to vape through the cravings. :). Welcome and best of luck to you!

I was about a 3/4 pack a day smoker and started with an 18mg but it was too strong so I immediately went to a 12 which has worked wonders for me. If 18 is working for you that is great. Just don't go down the nic levels too fast. I have read a lot on here about people going though the nic levels too quickly and ultimately started smoking again. I am pretty new too (just over a month vaping) and still go between a 12 and 6. I have a couple of 9mg juices as well. Do it gradually and I know you will succeed.

WOW!!! Making your own juice already...that is great! I haven't ventured into that realm yet. Maybe one day.

Others have given good advice here.......

A couple of things:
1.) the ecig, with a strong, higher nic juice, will kill the urge for nicotine if you use it heavily enough. Once I realized this when I first started, it was absolutely one of the most important realizations of my life. I realized that I did NOT need analogs any more, that I could get out from under the monkey on my back called cigarettes! Just find a couple of flavors that you like. This can be the hard part in the beginning, but you only need 1 or 2 maybe, and you are on your way to being cigarette-free. You can then just gradually reduce your nicotine level as you go. My reasoning: higher nic with flavors I like is far better than analogs and 4000+ chemicals.
2.) Once I realized that I really liked the flavors of a couple of juices, and that the nicotine urge was satisfied, I quickly came to the realization of, "WHAT THE HELL DO I REALLY NEED CIGARETTES FOR, ANYWAY? Believe me, this is one of the greatest feelings that you can have!........
3.) sounds like you will have some equipment that is several steps above a cig-a-like, which is VERY good. Cig-a-likes can work, as Blu-Cigs did for me, but the extra vapor you will get from more advanced equipment will satisfy much more.

Good luck with your new toys! :vapor:

I quit the nasty habit almost a month ago(26 days). I started and have stuck with 18mg juice. I may be one of the few that didn't mix analogs with vaping. Once I got the kit I had my last smoke and have not touched or thought about touching one since. As stated a few posts back the MVP 2 with nautilus is a great setup(what I use) and the "must get new shiny stuff" bug has hit me and i'm constantly looking for the next shiny piece to add to my non existent collection(wife wears the pants here). Just pickup the pv and take a puff or 20 when the urge hits and you'll be analog free in no time.

update: I found a local vape shop that just opened in my area. I am going to return the 650 mah coming in the mail. I over paid and not happy. I just bought the vision spinner 1100 mah vv and got a kangertech evod clearomizer. Thanks for all the help.

That's about what I was going to suggest to start with. EVODs are nice. I used them myself until I moved up to an advanced widget. The EVODs do a nice vape and are just dead easy to use. A spinner is good though you'll probably want a backup. I always had one charging while using one. That way, you don't find yourself stuck without a charged battery.

The bigger challenge, actually, will be finding juices you like and that work for you. Having a local vape shop where you can sample is a great help. I'd say never buy too much at once at the outset. I ended up with a lot of juices that sounded like a good idea but are sitting in a cabinet now... just... sitting.

Don't pressure yourself too much at the beginning. There's something psychological about telling yourself "I'm going to quit" that can cause something of a... oh... call it "panic"? I let myself smoke at first. I just did things like put the vapor in the convenient spots and the pack of cigs (ashtray, lighters) in a kitchen cabinet. Smokers build up a lot of habits and "stash" things were they're in easy reach. I mean, how many times did you light up without looking? I did it all the time. Everything was in its place and I didn't have to "look".

I say focus more on finding vapes you enjoy and the smoking will become less interesting and less attractive. My smoking dropped dramatically the first day but hung on at a low level for about six weeks after? But kept slowing down and slowing down until I ran out of cigs and just didn't bother to get another pack.

It's different for different folks. Some walk away from cigs the first day. Others take time. I say long as the smoking is decreasing and becoming less important, that's good. Ya know, Rome wasn't built in a day and other cliches. :)

And the amount of time it takes to stop smoking completely seems to have nothing to do with success. My last cig was a year ago now and I took six weeks to stop. Others took less time or took longer and have been smoke free longer. Some just... stopped. And haven't gone back since.

There's no telling...

I am a pack a day smoker(marlboro menthol)...

Oh, one more thing. I was a menthol smoker for years. But didn't care for menthol vapor. After a year of vaping, I'm liking some menthols but I'm not big on menthol. Go figure?

Don't "assume" about flavors. Try things out. Be adventurous. Your favorites may not be what you expect them to be...

your setup seems quite good . i would start off with the highest nicotine juice you can get 36mg or at least 24 and he you want to move down then do that later. I've been at this a while and buy the highest nicotine the shop has. anything below 24mg and its not scratching the itch. even at 36 or 24mg it does not hit as hard as a regular cigarette.

as others said let it come natural for you .

I also recommend you start with an high dose of nicotine , I started (and still) vaping with 11-12mg but if you want to make sure you won't have craving for cigs go with the 18MG or maybe buy both .

Also , I suggest you buy a clearo that you can dissemble and start reading and watching videos about dry burns , it will save you a lot of money .
Do not Listen to vendors who tell you "CE4 are good for beginners" that's a load of bull crap which meant to get money out of your pocket , there is no reason why a beginner shouldn't buy a clearo he can take apart ,not to mention cleaning & dry burn which is a very simple procedure on such clearo

Congrats on your move to the wonderful world of vaping. I started probably 4-5 years ago when the very first e-cigs came out and I never looked back. Ego style batts work well for beginners, though I would def recommend going with a VV/VW. Also, I can't say enough about Kanger's tanks (EVOD, ProTank 1/2/3, ect) They work soooo good, and the heads are easily rebuilt. (If you have any intention of rebuilding the heads then stick w/ single coil options as they are less tricky to put together, I prefer the singles anyhow...)

1. EGO spinners are a good low-cost option (also small in size.)
2. Innokin iTaste VV 3.0 - low cost, smaller in size than an APV/Mod, is VV (3.3-5v) as well as an Ohm tester, should you rebuild your coils (highly recomended)
3. If you don't mind going bigger in size:Vamo V5, Sig ZMax, iTaste SVD (the MVP / VTR are great as well, though I prefer a round mod)

**just ordered an SVD from kanVape.com. Have not purchased from them before, but I couldn't pass on their price. Will see how this order goes. The SVD express kit is $42.95, and they have an offer on their site for 20% off you first purchase, so $34.36 w/ discount AND free shipping. (The coupon was not working for online checkout so you have to call in to place your order, though well worth it for the price.) $20.50 for a 4 pack of IMR 18350 batteries + 10.50 for Nitecore (free shipping for everything- Amazon) Total= $65.36 Not Bad

Actually, basic stuff is easy. Mount Baker has plain nic juice you can pick the nic level and the PG/VG ratio. Saves you having to figure how to dilute down from high nic juice (which I'm doing these days): DIY Supplies.

And they have flavorings so it's just a matter of mixing. I call their's the "easy bake" version. :)

You can actually save a fair amount of money without much effort. I do a lot of simple mixes as "mainstays" and treat premix as a "splurge". And you can move up as you get comfortable. Like now I buy nic in bulk and dilute it down. But I started with MBV and "squirt stuff in bottle and shake". :)

With me, it was a total accident. I bought a Blu disposable when I picked up my regular carton just curious what the heck an "e-cig" was like. Liked the taste and puffed on it while I got busy with something then realized about 8:30 that evening, the cigs and ashtray and lighter were sitting on the counter untouched. Got this very weird feeling, dug up the receipt and saw I'd just flat forgotten to light up for nine hours. Just... forgot.

It was almost creepy. :)
