Welcome and glad you joined.
Sounds like you are on the right track and close to a solution. Getting the right nic delivery with great juice can work wonders. Might like to read:

Some here say SNUS works for them with vaping when not using the SNUS.

In the case of nictine products often times duplication of other things beyond feeding the body nicotine leads to successful cessation of using said product.

My sister for example started using nicotine losenges after meals to curb the 25 habit of smoking after meals. Well, she got hooked on that and tried lifesavers to stop. Until she discovered a candy that gave her brain a thought of same shape as her nic losenge she kept battling the cravings. She still "relaxes" after supper with a nicotine mint where she used to keep one in her mouth nearly all day at first. After meals was her last big craving after not smoking for a while. She never could get beyond those 3 cigarettes a day craving. She had stopped smoking by then but got grouchy after meals.

So the SNUS may satisfy the cheek n gum action/sensation while you learn new habits.
I found the more nicotine I vaped the more my brain craved the very thing I wanted to stop. I found a nicotine strength that curbed the urges was a lot less than conventional wisdom dictated.

Quitting tobacco is not a black and white task. For some people it takes decreasing usage of the original contaminant. From tye sound of it, vaping has helped you decrease dip usage. Sounds like it's working. The issue I see is that vaping is a SMOKING cessation device. Smoking and dipping are so different that I dunno the similarities other than the root is tobacco. My advice would be to drip(1-2 drops of 12-18mg to start?) freebase nic in between your lip and gum when the urge is overpowering to have a pinch. That may give you the sensation and action to alleviate the urge.

*I only play a doctor on TV, so my advice should be considered novice and followed with caution.

Thanks for all the advice!!! It hard to stop after doing it so long. I do decently want to stop because It feels like vape is a lot more relaxing just chew it’s easy to hide and gives you a lot of nicotine but for awhile now I don’t even get a buzz so it feels like I’m not craving it much. Maybe just putting it in my lip is the craving. I never tried snus before I tried pouches one time but I didn’t like those Eather.

Welcome to the friendly bunch :)

Yep...you need to get rid of the chewing tobac completely and then use the vape only to feed your craving. There is still a bit of will power needed here and just maybe your not the kind of person that can gradually reduce it the skol are there in front of you.....I know i wouldn't have been able to when I gave up...

There's a bit of pain at the start but when you crack it it's all the more of a good feeling. Plenty of support here...if you're climbing the walls come and chat...tell somebody :)

Good luck.

I would 100% recommend snus in your case. You can get it in the US (Sweedish snus) at many gas stations under the confusing name "American General Snus."

You may need more than one pouch, depending on your dipping habit. You can get far more variety and strengths by importing it directly from Sweden. It is as much a harm reduction habit as vaping, possibly more. Almost every smoker or dipper in Sweden (or a large percentage anyway) have stopped tobacco use with this method. Here is a thread all about it, you don't have to read the whole thing, but you can post your questions there. IF you so choose.

I use snus at work where I can't vape and I am so glad I discovered it. Vape too if you enjoy it, but I really think you are an IDEAL candidate for snus.

Good luck and welcome.

I never have chewed but I imagine it’s similar to dual using cigarettes and vaping?
If not, excuse me...

I smoked and vaped together for 6 months. I was speaking with somebody whom it took a year. I would have thought there are many here who have both longer and shorter experiences.

If it’s only been a few months, I wouldn’t worry.

Welcome too

Hello I have been trying to stop doing skoal for the last few months with vape. My juice I use is 48 mg salt nic. I enjoy it a lot but I still keep putting skoal in my mouth I have been doing skoal for ten years now I use to do a can a day of grizzle wintergreen it did go down to half a can now but I just want to stop wasting money on it now any tips or advice would be helpful. Thanks

I am a bit late to the party but I do have a few suggestions and questions.

The biggest question is why do you feel you must quit smokeless tobacco? Most people are grossly misinformed about the risk of American style smokeless tobacco. Smokeless tobacco has very low risk at least comparable to vaping (and that means not only snus, but Skoal and all the other American style dip products). You are not going to get any measurable health benefits from switching. You may want to make the switch for personal reasons or preference but health is not one of them.

Snus is of course a good alternative and I have been using it for over ten years. It is different than Skoal as it is done in the upper lip and there is no spitting so the feel is going to be different. It is good stuff though with plenty of nicotine. As mentioned by someone else the Swedish snus is better than American snus at least as far as nicotine hit. The American snus (camel is the only one I am familiar with) is sweet will the Swedish snus goes to the salty side.

Something else to try are NRT's as in nicotine gum or lozenges. They get a bad name within the vaping community but used as simply a good source of nicotine they are actually very good. They are also going to give you at least some of the mouth feel you are use to with Skoal. I use them quite often and at present are my main source of nicotine. It was an easy transition from snus (I still do use snus, just less) because they are both oral products.

You may want to do some research on the low risk of smokeless tobacco to put your mind at ease. Brad Rodu's blog is a good place to start.

No problems. There are lots of good alternatives out there. No one way is inherently better than another as they are all very low risk compared to inhaling smoke from cigarettes. The trick is finding something that works for you.

Snus gets me through a WHOLE workday.

And, when I retire I will have more nic, coils, and setups left.

Seriously I was SUPER worried, but snus just saved my bacon. No one knows I vape. Which is good because I work in a federally funded healthcare clinic which means... Vaping leads to demons, and I work on the pedes clinic and *I* am the one that is SUPPOSED to be able to like, talk to insane people and make them sane.

Snus makes me capable of that. I had NO clue what it was, but it's pretty darn awesome.

Tons of good harm reduction options.

They have this new product at gas station called zyn or something has no nicotine I was thinking about trying that.
Zyn does have nicotine but no tobacco. I believe they use nicotine salts. It is used like snus and the nicotine is absorbed via the mucus membrane like all the oral smokeless tobacco products. Another product is "ON". It is very similar to Zyn and also uses nicotine salts.

There are some products out there with no nicotine or tobacco that are claimed to help dippers trying to quit (that's the theory anyway). I don't know the names of that stuff.

As Stubby said there is a whole lot of misinformation about oral tobacco.
Since you like dipping snus does come in a loose leaf type if you wanted to try that.
It may get you through transitioning though personally I see no reason why you should.
Best wishes whatever you choose!
