Trying to stop smoking but having issues with atomizer HELP!

A few weeks ago I ordered an ego-t type b starter kit w/ 1100 MaH batteries. After much research I came to the conclusion that this was the e-cig for me. At first it worked beautifully. I stopped smoking analogs for about a week. That is until the atomizers became to clogged and whatever else, maybe wicking probs? IDK. I cleaned the atty's out with warm water, even let them dry over night and they just don't work right anymore. This is only after about 6 or 7 days of normal/heavy use. So I ordered two new atty's. One LR and one normal type b. The LR never seemed to work right, but same thing with the new normal atty. Worked good for 5-6 days or so then no good anymore. I love not smoking analogs and want with all my heart and soul to only vape. I cant afford to change atty's this often. When smoking I role my own wich only runs my about $30 a month. Any pointers on why my atty's are going capoot so quick? It seems like they are just dirty and I cant get them clean...or maybe a wick problem...please help me so I can break away from analogs and enjoy my ego-t

My advice, and I'm sure you will get others, is too go to Crystal Clear Vaping and get 15 Resurrector cartomizers for about 20 bucks and stop with the hassles. The vape is great on an ego/riva and they hold alot of juice so you can stop messing about so much. It's just simpler! Also, cleaning an atty with water never worked for me. There are a few threads on various methods, but I have found the ultra sonic jewelry cleaner to be the most sucessful.

Yes - that is what atomizers do, especially if you use cloudy or opaque juices that drop flavoring sediment. You need to try to keep attys clean like by rinsing every night. And the tank attys may need their wick adjusted - search Youtube for Ego-T wick. Also use suitably thin juice. Tanks like the thickness of PG w/ 30% or less VG though some thinner 50/50's may work. Also search Youtube for clean Ego-T and it should pull up videos of cleaning tank atomizers (and next day remember to prime the atomizer wick with eliquid and wait for that to soak down). I think people remove the spike plate when cleaning? Not sure - I never used them.

---
IMO - buy some cartomizers. Learn how to use them. Then you will never be stuck with no way to vape. I recommend learning on Boge 510 3 ohm then trying the hotter Boge 510 2 ohm ones. Then after that you can try any complicated or huge cartos - you will know how cartos work and how to keep them damp. In Boges I usually used 80PG/20VG. (carto lasts longer for me with 20% VG or less and I stick to fairly clear juices to get good carto life)

The crankiness of atomizers is what made me stop using atomizers. they are so nice when you first meet them and then they turn on you. I demoted my attys to testing new juices and other menial tasks. bwahaha

I had the saaaame problem, after cleaning the atomizers i would get a HORRIBLE burnt taste, even on some of the new ones it was the same, so i just gave up on them and got some Boge 510 cartomozers and a couple 3ml vision clearomizers and have not looked back. You will be doing yourself and your wallet a favor ditching the tanks IMO.

Same here, we are like a broken record. I have switched to cartomizers for just that reason. I had some that never worked, brand new and dead as a doornail; others that would work for a week and die, others would work half a day and die and I have one that has been going for six months. I can't afford all of those attys, I simply do not have any (income) disposable income for parts that are faulty or work for such a breif period of time. Cartos cost alot, alot less and so far for me, work alot, alot better.

Thank you guys all very much for you responses. You guys shot me alot of great info and cleared up so much! Thanks. I think I will try some cartos and see how that goes. A while back I did try an ego mega dual coil 4 ml LR carto, and was not crazy about the way it vaped. I may have put in to much or not enough juice? Not sure. I think i'll try the boge 2.0 lr cartos. My only concern is will the boge 510 cartos match up with my ego-t batteries?

Thank you for the pointers. It really helps alot. Im leaning towards the boge cartos. I've been told the the LR is better than the SR. Why should I start with the 3 ohm instead of the 2 ohm. Is there a level of skill required to use these cartos?

Check out this tutorial http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette-maintenance/226241-ego-t-atomizer-step-step-cleaning-maintenance-shaka-zuluf.html

I personally threw away my ego tank atomizers and went with deluxe fluxomizers from Gotvapes after trying carts, regular cartos, dripping and everything else. You can try soaking them in everclear or lemon juice to remove the build up then washing thoroughly before dry burning but I never did get the things clean.

They have several different ohm options, wich did you go with?

I actually prefer the atomizer with the standard cartridge/filter or dripping directly. I've found that the carto offers no resistance and doesn't feel enough like a cig when taking a drag. With that being said, I've learned a few things from this forum that seem to work for me.

1. Blow out your atomizer every night until no juice drips out from the back end.

2. After blowing out your atomizer, do a brief dry burn. Hold down your button for a second or two to burn off the excess juice. Keep repeating until your wick starts to glow. At this point it is dry and clean. Be carefull and do at your own risk as you risk frying your atomizer if you let it get too hot when dry. If vaping again right away, I like to drip a couple drops directly on the wick to get it lubed up with my new flavour. This seems to prevent the initial burning taste of a too dry wick.

3. If using a cartridge, keep the white filter stuff wet all the time. If switching juices, make sure it is completely clean and dry before refilling. Roll it around in a paper towel to get excess. After many repeats, its best to use a new filter.

4. I went about 3 weeks on this method chain vaping on a single atomizer. The original one now doesn't seem to vape very well. I've put it aside and am now using a new one. Eventually I will try some of the more complex methods to clean it to see if there is any life left in it.

Ohms of what? Boge cartos or something else?

On an Ego Boge 510 3 ohm are fairly cool since Ego is 3.4v, and most prefer the 2 ohm. If you ever find 2.5 ohm those are a nice medium heat. And any Boges 3.4 ohm+ are for higher voltage devices like 5v etc.
Thanks...question answered!

Id be very careful doing what was posted above with the dry burn. Making your wick glow when its dry can very easily singe the wick and ruin the atty bc then it will have a really nasty burnt taste that will not go away if its burnt bad enough.

Cartos are def the way to go. Like Dormouse said, Id go with the Boge cartos for an eGo. You can use the Ressurectors, they are 1.7ohmLR and hold 2ml of juice. They wont be up to their full potential though bc the eGo is 3.4V and not 3.7V, so I like the Boges better for an eGo. Many people like the 2.0ohm Boges on an eGo. The 2.0ohm will give a warmer vape and more throat hit than the 3.0ohms.
Also what ohm is that LR Dual Coil you said you have? If its a 1.5ohm, I wouldnt recommend using it on a eGo. That low of a resistance puts alot of stress of the eGo mosfet and if your not careful you can fry it, and ruin your eGo. 2.0ohm LR like the Boges wont put as much stress of it and they work well on the eGo.
I think cartos are def the way to go. I use the Ressurectors on a 3.7V E-Power and find them to be a huge difference between using an atty and cart. Their very consistant and hold a lot more juice so your not constantly refilling. I get about 2-3 weeks out of one carto, and I dont even clean them. Once it becomes fairly clogged thats when I just throw it out and start with a new one. And whats awesome about cartos is everytime you use a new one, your also using a brand new atomizer which is nice. A 5 pack costs under $8 and will normally last me at least 2 months so their well worth it

The dual coil carto I had was 1.5 ohm. At the time I new absolutely nothing about e cigs. Definitely not a good choice. Im shopping online now and keep referencing back to this thread for info. I've got it narrowed down to boge 2.0 cartos and a cone thread cover for my ego batteries. My only question now is do I need a drip tip with the cartos or will they work ok with out one on my ego?...E cig shopping is the most confusing thing in the world...lol. Not really but it is pretty confusing, thanks for your help!
