I followed the directions given by Shaka and they worked great - on the first atomizer I cleaned. It was a Volcano Ego-T, type A. When I went to clean the second atomizer I had ordered from Vaporgods (and labelled "EGO-T") I ran into a condition where the wick was actually passed through the coil windings. As I pulled out the plate, the wick was left behind inside the atomizer. It was not stuck to the coil, it was passed through the coil. I was fortunate in that I had enough strands of loose wicking that I could fashion a temporary working wick.

Is there a way to identify this type of wick before pulling off the plate and destroying the existing wick? Was the Volcano atty a knock off and the Vaporgods a true Joye atty?

If not, I guess I will abandon the process and rely on the soaking method.

I don't use tanks. Until someone answers I recommend you search Youtube for Ego-T wick, Ego-T clean, tank atomizer clean, etc (and add Joye to those searches if it helps bring up good results)

And on ECF go up above Search to Search with Google and search for things like
Ego-T wick
Ego-T clean
Tank atomizer clean
tank atty clean
etc
