I followed the directions given by Shaka and they worked great - on the first atomizer I cleaned. It was a Volcano Ego-T, type A. When I went to clean the second atomizer I had ordered from Vaporgods (and labelled "EGO-T") I ran into a condition where the wick was actually passed through the coil windings. As I pulled out the plate, the wick was left behind inside the atomizer. It was not stuck to the coil, it was passed through the coil. I was fortunate in that I had enough strands of loose wicking that I could fashion a temporary working wick.
Is there a way to identify this type of wick before pulling off the plate and destroying the existing wick? Was the Volcano atty a knock off and the Vaporgods a true Joye atty?
If not, I guess I will abandon the process and rely on the soaking method.
