While looking for data to refute Sharon Fischer's claims on the recent YNN story, I came across this njoy study of TSNA's. I'm curious of people's opinion of the website (which dosen't look like an ad-site to my insufficiently caffeinated self) and the article.

Study Demonstrates NJOY Electronic Cigarette Inhalants Do Not Contain Carcinogenic TSNAs

I agree the anti's are going to scream biased study. If someone else's seen similar findings, specifically the lack of TSNA's in the vapor, that'd be valueable.

There are a whole bunch of studies and things here:
NVC Medpack

What sticks in my craw is when they say that all of the studies have been funded by electronic cigarette manufacturers. While this is mostly the case (ignoring that most of them are resellers, not manufacturers), they don't acknowledge that this is exactly how it would be if they were being regulated as a drug. The manufacturer runs all of the tests, studies, clinical trials, etc. The FDA just reviews their papers, says "looks OK" and approves it. I'm not 100% on the entire process, so they may run a basic lab test to confirm that it is what it says it is, but other than that they don't do studies themselves.
To say that you can't trust these studies because they were done by the electronic cigarette industry is like saying that you can't approve Chantix because all of the studies were paid for by Pfizer.... oh, wait...

They can download a copy of the study itself from CASAA:

There is also the critique of the FDA's testing methodology:

http://www.casaa.org/files/Exponent Response-to-the-FDA-Summary.pdf

The response to the "funded by the manufacturers" accusation is, "Who paid for the lab tests and clinical trials of Nicoderm, Nicorette, Commit, and Nicotrol?"

We can add, "Other entities are certainly welcome to hire independent laboratories to conduct additional tests of electronic cigarette liquid and vapor."
