Hello, I've always used my mech mod at low wattage but lately i'm running some subohm build and the tube is getting warm (not a LOT but i can clearly feel it with my hand), I'm not sure if it's supposed to act like this.

The mech mod is a telescopic GUS Kiss GUS kiss Battery case telescopic Summer edition v2 [KIS-SON13] - €130.00 : Gus-mod&more...!, An idea made material and it does have a 510 connector, not hybrid.

I've tried the Bellus built at 0.44 ohm and Le Zephyr built at 0.5 ohm, Sony VTC5 And Efest purple but it's always the same. I don't think it's relevant but FWIW it's damn hot these days here in my house.

The Gus doesn't really like low builds if you have the stock spring in it. It needs a beefer spring.
If you chain vape, the tube will get warm/hot.
Check www.fatdaddyvapes.com for springs.
I have a Gus but I don't use it anymore, I build below .4

Some mods gets hotter than others, and as said it's usually the atty heating the mod-body up.

As I personally run pretty low on all my mechs, then I am in the habbit of often checking my batteries and especially if/when the mod-body heats up i.e. unscrew switch quickly after a draw and feel battery temperature to the touch, but i've not yet had the battery themselves be the culprit, but also use quality batteries and follow e.g. mooch/lygte-info testings to verify useability in addition to spec...

A good idea that I do is to not screw the atty completely down flush, but leave a tiny space underneath for heat to disperse from...

When my GG Esterigon starts to be warmer then expected... it's time for a cleaning.
Take it to bits and pay special attention to any threads/threaded parts.
Clean and polish everything and reassemble. I use a tooth brush and washing up liquid and a small piece of 325-500 SS mesh for polishing.

Cheers
I
