I filled my 3 ml TubeTank yesterday and vaped fine yesterday and last night. This morning I noticed the vapor being very harsh and with a burning when inhaled. Then it was giving off the burning taste like a dry atomizer.switched to my regular high res atomizer and all is good. Has anyone had this happen? I use a Lavatube and had the voltage at 3.7 , the right level for my 3 ml, low res tank.
thanks for listening. J

Sounds like the carto ran dry, if so, it's toast. You won't get rid of that taste once it's burnt in. You probably saturated the carto first and then filled the tank, so you were just vaping what was already in it.

Do you take any primer puffs every few pulls? Primer puff is when you take a hard pull without firing the battery. You should see a bubble or two leave the punched hole in the carto. This means that liquid is going in.

How many holes are in the carto? What ratio of liquids are you vaping? Higher VG is thicker and can cause troubles with tanks. You could look into slotting, or getting a...saddle strap? punch to add more holes yourself. Some vendors offer a selection of prepunched cartos ranging from 1 - 4 holes.

It's a bit finicky, too large/many holes and you'll end up flooding the carto, which is bad. Too few and you could end up burning it dry, also bad.

Totally agree high VG liquids tend not to wick as well. In my experience I have found two holes work well for higher VG juices and one for Higher PG juices. As the carto gets used it will tend to clog up more from the juice try different amounts of holes and sizes. Also the priming puffs mentioned work well. There is nothing more frustrating than a dry hit when you have a full tank.

I probably did over fill the whole tank and cartomizer. I' new to this so I'm learning as I go. I'm Vaping 48mg all VG liquid. thanks for the prime tip .There is only one hole in the carto. I ordered the 7 ml high resistant tank, will that one be any different? Thanks for all the info! J

It would be somewhat helpful to know the brand of tank that you are using. Not aware of many 7ml tanks. However, carto tanks are pretty much the same. They are merely juice reservoirs for the cartomizer. The trick to being successful with carto tanks is knowing what to do with the cartomizer itself prior to putting it into an assembled tank.

Watch a couple of videos of someone demonstrating how to fill a cartomizer prior to putting it into the tank. After deciding upon how many holes it should have, depending on how thick the juice is to go into the tank, you can save yourself some user error by sticking a broken wooden tooth pic into the airhole. This avoids getting juice in it and needing to blow it out after filling. Fill the carto until it the top looks like a slushy drink and stays that way. Then remove the tooth pic.

You are then ready to put the pre-punched, pre-filled carto into the assembled tank. A tank accessory tool is helpful at this point. Placed on the end of the carto, it aids in guiding the carto thru the bottom endcap, and safely past its rubber o-rings without damaging them from the sharp edge of the carto. Push the carto about 2/3 of the way into the tank, and fill the tank thru the top end about 4/5 full. Leave a little air space in the tank. Then you are ready to push the carto up thru the top end cap, remove the tank tool, and replace it with your favorite drip tip.

As the others stated, vg juices can be tricky to get to wick properly in a carto tank. You may need to experiement with the number, and size, of the holes required.

It really boils down to geting the juice into the carto. Are you punching the carto or getting them pre punched? Most pre punched cartos dont have holes big enough for 100% vg juice. Saddle valve or cheap carto punch may be what you need.

48mg???!!!! Wow. I smoked 3 packs a day, dipped and smoked pipes daily and when i first started vaping 24 or 18 even would send me spinning. Be careful with that juice. Dont let it get on your hands and certainly keep it away from kids and pets

after reading over this thread i have one question: do you own a dremel tool?

if you take a dremel tool with a flat grinding disk, you can actually cut a slot in the carto that allows the juice to flow in more freely than a tiny little hole, try that as well as these other suggestions and you should be golden as far as juice flow....

for the 48mg juice: beware, that stuff is liquid death...i could hardly take 18mg when i first started, that stuff is straight up toxic
