I normally do not do this as I used to feel that it simulated flooding on certain decks. When doing a micro/macro coil that is NOT centered with the center post, I cut the side closest to the edge of the deck just short enough to tuck back toward the negative post and then leave enough on the other side to just fill up between the posts and edge. It's hard to explain so take a look at this build on a trident V2:

I am just curious if most of you advanced micro/macro coil users will typically tuck one or both of the excess cotton tails underneath the coil and if so, does it produce more flavor? Any other effects?

I usually tuck both tails under the coil and push them down so that I end up with sort of a "pocket" if you will under the coil to promote air flow through there. I find that it's a cooler vape and I retain a lot of flavor that way. Never really though of cutting one side off and just leaving one tail down to the deck... that may work better for wicking purposes rather than wicking from 2 tails per coil maybe? IDK food for thought I guess lol.

I do the same thing with my trident too.

I actually just tried this "pocket" method on my helios with dual twisted 28g macros and I think that in combination with the twisted wire, the extra wick and juice under there definitely creates an effect on flavor. As far as what exactly that effect is, I'm not sure.

I don't put any underneath because I would get less vapor production. I may have been putting too much or maybe packed too tight. Without any cotton under the coil the vapor pours out from there.

Edit: But I have seen builds with tails/beds underneath a coil and vapor streams out nicely. I just haven't been able to do it myself with results as good.
