I finally got around to trying proper micro-coils (8 wraps of 30g around .055) in my IGO-W. I was getting too much TH for me and I decided it was probably a wicking issue because I hadn't felt too good about the wicks when I put them in. The coil was just too small to fit enough cotton in there. I suspected a cotton cloud might fix the issue but had never tried one. I took the easy way out and went back to a twisted macros (8 wraps of twisted 30g around .11) and the harsh TH was fixed. Was the cotton cloud the correct fix for the micro?

I've just never been enthusiastic about a cloud because the ones I've seen look like the deck is really stuffed and all of that cotton is counter to what has worked for me. Just get over it and try it?

I was just about to start a thread about this, maybe someone else will chime in on this. I've figured out my solution to this problem, maybe it will work for you. If your micro is a 1/16 drill bit like I use, I've found the best results for me is actually wicking through the center of the coil, and putting a small cloud on the other side of the posts (to hold juice) if that makes sense. First off my favorite micro-coils so far have been about 1 ohm on the dot (about 5-6 wraps), and they seem to be instant vapes at 15-16 watts (4 volts), and I've found since they heat up alot quicker than what you and I are used to, having a cloud blocking one side basically cooks the juice and cotton most of the time. So I tried wicking through the center and got much better results, I position them vertically so the two "tails" of my wick are right under my drip hole, and the other tail is on the deck going to the opposite side of the posts. So the tail going right over my positive post under the drip hole meets with the "deck" tail on the other side of the deck also, then I throw a small cloud on top of those tails just to keep them drenched (because that's important with a micro coil too, along with tipping your rda so the juice runs toward the coil. These micros give great clouds at 16 watts, but you have to keep them pretty drenched as a trade off, I find myself putting 4 drops in about every 7-10 hits maybe less if I inhale longer. Another thing to do is keep the max airflow right in front of your coils as it pretty much needs the cooling to make good vapor. I think without airflow using my method it just spurts scalding liquid drops everywhere instead of actually turning into vapor with air current.

-Wow, I typed alot more than I meant too :p, I hope this helps though, as I had the problem myself recently, I just kept tasting cotton. If your vaping it at 16 watts like I am don't be afraid to really inhale it, I made the mistake of inhaling slowly first (as Im used to other coils) and that just heats everything up too fast, with micros it's a push-button vape, I usually take 3-4 second pulls max.
