Do you have any kind of gizmo?
Someone else can link to a vid about wrapping around a screwdriver or something...

I highly recommend one of these coilmaster thingies.
You don't need a big fancy kit - even this is totally optional - but I found it made it much easier for me to get neat tidy coils. If you know you want 2.5mm diameter you can get just that one size at some places. Or get a kit with a few sizes.
EVERY online vape shop should have these just about. Or search "coil jig" or coilmaster...

Here's a tutorial how to use one - you can skip the first 4 minutes...:D

Just a caution, when you snip off the wire ends, do not, I repeat, do not let the snipped ends fall to the carpet, if you have carpet. If you lose a wire end, you will find it sometime with your bare foot. It hasn't happened to me, but I've heard it hurts like h... They are sharp and can go deep. Good luck with your winding. :)

Because the bf RBA coil needs to be different from say the kayfun v5 coils I make I was looking for specific instructions for how to wrap the wire with the protruding leg

Please correct me if I've got this wrong, but I think you're referring to this coil shape:

If so, you're probably wondering about the jog in the left coil leg. I do that fairly often ... sometimes they're not pretty, but mostly I get them pretty much the way I want them. My first few tries were a disaster, but it gets easier every time :)

I wrap the coil with ordinary straight legs, then bend a leg using small needle nose pliers with the coil supported on the shaft I used to wrap with. I make the bend close to the coil first and then the second one. It's harder to do with a very short jog as opposed to a longer one.

I think I once saw a video from someone on this and if I can find it I'll post it.

ETA: Found a video that shows some neat techniques. It's definitely easier with thicker wire because it tends to stay where you put it, but the idea is the same with any gauge. Hope this helps.

This is Very Good Advice. I have Found those small Shards of Wire with my Toe. Not Recommended.

I have a Plastic 3lb Coffee Can lid that I like to do my Building in. It's nice because has a Pretty Tall Lip on it. So when I when I go to Snip the excess wire off, it keeps the Wire from Disappearing into a another Dimensional Reality. Only to Reemerge in this Reality somewhere on the Floor.

Another that Helps is if you place a Finger on the Excess Wire as you Snip It. And to Keep the Snipers Pointed Down.

Your topper probably has a review that includes building a Coil. Or, just search, on YouTube for you topper name and "build coil", or something close to it.

My daily vaping tools are all in book-sized Tupperware that has a vapertowel lining the bottom. My car has a similar case with vape tools/gear. I keep that one in the car.

depending on the rda... i don't bother with bending the ends, but when i do, i mount them on the jig(what i build on) and use a set of needlnose to do it... so i don't screw it up. most don't really need it though.

hubby had to spend a half hour digging one of those .......s out of my foot... i don't build over carpet and am usually careful but occasionally one gets away.. my feet are great at finding them while i'm searching with a flashlight...
