Hi,I just build a twisted o.6 ohm coil with 26ga+ 32 ga, I use ipv4s and taifun tank. when I tested before I close the chamber, It was fine 0.6-0.7 ohm. But after closing the chamber ,and start to vape, it changed into 0.1-0.2 ohm, cotton burnt quickly and i can feel the burnt taste ,also battery drains so fast, just several puffs, and mod cannot be used saying check battery, although the battery bar is still full. And I can see like orange colour from the cotton through the transparent tank,it was the fire colour.
1. Did I do something wrong?
2. Why ohm turning low? Is it because coil touching the chamber?
3. Are twisted coil only for mechanic mod?

Coil is touching the cap would be my guess causing a short. Reposition it so it doesn't touch the wall of the base, posts or cap. Could also be a loose screw.

Twisted coils is NOT only for mechs. The mod whether mech or regulated is still just a battery holder. The coil goes in the atomizer, which gets its power from the battery in the holder. Could be argued the twisted coil is better suited to regulated vaping.

+1. The coil is grounding. And you can use twists on anything for which you can balance the resistance. I build a lot of twists, and it has been my experience I get better results and they're easier to coil if you'll use the same size wire. Two 28s, for example would give you about the same resistance per length as the 26/32 you used. Or triple 32s. And they'll make an easier bundle on the deck and wrap the mandrel more smoothly.

X2 plus they last longer and are easy to clean and re wick

Sent from the dust in front of you!

Thanks a lot for the feedback guys! I reposition my coil, and that fix the problem. although the vapour is less than the non twisted coil, Is it because i use a thicker cotton?
It's probably because the coil is grounding and wasting power instead of making heat. Reposition it, get the resistance reading right, then test it. All other things being equal, a twist should produce more vapor than a slick wire coil of the same resistance and at the same wattage because it has the more surface area. If it doesn't, there are several things that might make a difference; one of which, as you suggest, is inefficient wicking.

No, it's probably just a cooler coil than the single wire. plug the numbers into steam-engine.org note heat flux.
