At work, went out for a break and managed to fry a relatively new 900mah battery. It got so hot that the power button melted into the body. No problem, took out my spare and attached it to the atty.. without even thinking that it may have been the atty that had shorted out. Ofcourse, first hit, the second battery died too. *Facepalm*. It just blinks when I press the button, but wont work at all.

Now, here is where my paranoia for backup's comes into play. I had a 3rd battery on hand along with a brand new atomizer, that I was able to prime and am currently using. As annoyed as I was with myself and the eGo batteries for dying, it would have been far worse if I had killed the only two devices I had.

Lesson learned: Always have backup's for your backup's. ;)

Happy vaping!!

So sorry to hear that! Kudos for being prepared though! I too carry at least 3 ego batteries and at least 2 to 3 atty's when I leave the house. I call it my emergency kit. Its not like with cigs, if you lost them you could run into any 7-11 to replace them. So it is always smart to have a back-up and a back-up for your back-up. :)

Good thing you didn't have to resort to taking shots of Geoff's blend!

how long to the batteries and atomizers last?

This was a first for me, and I guess it's why I did not recognize the symptom when it happened. The sad thing is that these 900mah batts were put into my rotation less than a month ago. I've still got my original eGo 650 mah batts that I started vaping with about a year ago, and they are fine.

As for atomizers, I am the last person you want that feedback from. I've had one that's lasted 6 months, and I've had many that have not even lasted 6 days.. go figure. :)

You can never be too thin nor too rich. Neither can you ever have enough attys and batteries.

Well, after today's fiasco, I'm going to keep a couple more spare atties and batts at work .. JUST IN CASE!! :D

I lost an eGo battery due to atty failure awhile ago too. A few days ago I had an eGo battery drain significantly faster than normal, over 2 hours shorter. I tested the atty and saw that it was measuring just 1 ohm. I tossed that atty real quick. We don't always get an alarm like that, but it's another sign to look for. Vaping isn't always easy. =)

James, for regular atty's, the cheapest price I've found is ordering through vaporkings (<$50 for 10). He states "genuine Joye". I'll take his word for it.

I've got a friend that orders from China. I can't remember the price he paid. But no warranty. I stopped listening after that.
