two questions

1. It appears the threading on the newer black satin units is different. I couldn't get an older extension to screw on?

2. Will you ever consider an instate discount so us Washingtonians don't have to pay almost 20 extra in tax for a colored led optioned provari with extension

The extension cap on my V1 doesn't screw onto the V2's either . . .

We have to pay an extra $50 - $60 duty/extra handling charge in the UK
to get our Provari's, that's a PITA, but they're worth it.

actually, the threading is identically the same. one thing noticed by my new black satin, is the finish/powdercoating was also on part of the threads.... It wasnt an easy task to get any of my caps on it but after continual threading/rethreading the extension cap I bought with it, I could thread any of the caps on... (also had a collector's end cap which currently resides on it) I tried swapping caps with my old black chrome unit and they all currently swap back and forth...

I have 5 Provari's. 3 V-1's and 2 V-2's. The same extension cap will work on all 5 of mine.

well, I tried some on the black mini and it won't screw in all of the way.


the one i'm particularly interested in using used to be the textured black, until it became a different color

it is true toby its not all the caps, but this older one at least

Most probable cause:
A speck of something is embedded in the threads of the old cap
You may not even be able the see it, doesn't take much to jam things up
In another thread it was recommended to run an exacto-knife around the threads to clear any debris
