Two-way radios?

I'm wondering if this is isolated to silver (or black) Reos, but I've heard this 4 times this week, "What are you doing with those two-way radios?" / "Why are you biting the antenna on your two-way radio?" / "Why are you smoking your two-way radios?"

It's pretty hilarious and understandable, especially since when I settle in somewhere I like to pull out both my minis and set them somewhere within arm's reach. Have you all had this or any other mis-identification of a reo?

A friend and I went to Lexington, a very small town here in MO with some nice little shops, and they were having an Apples & Antiques street fair, we had been walking around for a while, and sat down on a bench to people watch. I pulled out my Mini Woodvil, and a guy came running across the street to me to ask if it was something illegal. I laughed and showed him what it was.

Ya...no one has asked me about radios, but they did accuse me of being brazen. I, too, showed them what it was.

Yesterday my cousin said it looked like I was "doing something illegal" when I used it. *L* She called it my contraption, I think. She did like how my DIY coconut lemon smelled, though.

I'm active duty Air Force and I honestly keep my Reos out of site going through the gate every morning to avoid a "misunderstanding". I swear my all black looks like a detonator! I also worry about getting pulled over for cellphone use or anything else mentioned here, lol.

I have definitely had some funny looks, but once people see you blow out a plume of vapor they probably assume it to be drugs and don't want to talk to some crazy stoner, so they pretend not to have noticed .

I work on our local roads so my guess is at while at work a lot of the public think assume it's a radio but when I vape in the mall or stores etc no one says anything. I don't know why. People say I'm intimidating but I just don't see it

as a dog owner my Reo could pass as a dog whistle or remote control... but then there's smoke coming out of the dog whistle. so it must be illegal. the owner of a mentally unstable, quite dangerous looking dog is stoned or worse. a good premise to stay an other day analog free
