Hey all -

Loving the vape, loving the forum - so much info and so many helpful people. I haven't spent so much time at an internet forum since I restored an old truck a few years ago!

Today is officially my Week Two point. I have been vaping a Blu knockoff (L88b from EkoCigs.com) and just got an RN4081 from AquaCigs. I like them both - L88 is more portable, with the PCC; 4081 vapes better. But the 4081 died after only three days. The batteries started flashing 10 times and won't power the atomizer. AquaCigs said they'd send a replacement, tho, so I guess it's OK. Just a bad kit.

I am only on day two of no analogs. It's been hard. I bought a bunch of 11mg carts from Blu, and they are not cutting it. I also bought some 11mg juice from Johnston Creek - tasty, but no kick. The Reduced PG seems to make more vapor, but throat hit is weak at best.

I did buy one bottle of 18mg, but still, that's not quite enough. I think I'll need to go up to 24mg. Odd, since I've been an Marlboro Ultra Light smoker for at least 10 of my 30 smoking years, but then again, I always thought Marlboro Ultra Lights were stronger than other Ultra Lights. Maybe I need more nicotine. Any thoughts, anyone?

Anyway, I am glad to be here and, like I said, loving the new vaping hobby. I don't know, as an American, for how much longer I'll be able to enjoy this, but at least I'll have some fun while it lasts.

Hi ACM and welcome to the forum.

Sometimes it takes a higher nicotine eliquid to initially get off the analogs and then you can back the nicotine level down a little.

All it takes is a higher nic liquid and a bottle of VG. That way, if it's too strong, you can cut it with the VG to lower the nic level.

Or you can buy, for example, 36 mg chocolate and 0 mg chocolate. Mix the two together in equal measure and you will have 18 mg liquid. It is more expensive this way but if you don't want to buy flavoring etc, it is easier.

Just some different options for you to consider. Good luck!

Noob here (10 days - quit analogs first day)... I smoked (MarLights/CamLights 1-1/2 pack/day) for 30 years.

I started with 26 mg - at first it was too strong (dizzy, headache), but now it feels about right.. I'd rather have it higher nic than lower and craving..

Higher nic just means (for me anyway) less vaping overall. Hope to be able to cut the nic down enough to enjoy the many V flavors out there - but "no analogs" are my main priority.

HI! Some advice from me would be to get some samplers of different strengths. some tasty liquid with kick can be found at nhaler.com - really good quality stuff. use coupon code saveinnj for a discount. Dont worry, Im not affiliated w them, just found them to be the best IMO.

And, smoking ultra lights has nithing to do w nic levels, just tar and flavor levels. It sounds wierd but look it up-it was a way for cig companies to triv=ck us into thinking we had a less harmful cig to smoke. I was fooled myself!;)

Now, nic levels...like others said, dont be afraid to up ur level...nic delivers differently in vapor than it delivered in a cig. We actually absorb less nic when vaping. Search the threads heere for more info on nic level testing. Also, theres one called "so, are we getting it or not? Nic levels".

I hoipe this helps, and if u do decide to go w/Nhaler.com for liquid, be sure to vary ur nic levels. maybe buy a threesome of flavors at 18, 24 and 36mg or even better try a bunch of samplers, they are a good size and u can really get a bunch of diff level nic in them.:)

Good luck and report back and let us know ur progress! Here on ECF, well, were a family here and we DO care abt each other....so, with that said, hope to hear back from u soon!

:)

I think definitely the way to go for now is to try some different strengths and pick up some VG if I need to cut anything. The 18mg is working pretty well at night, but for some reason, it's not helping my day cravings.

I also find I am pulling too hard and getting that dry, burned atomizer taste I have read about here. Or maybe it's just that Johnston Creek juice is too mild tasting? It's way better than the factory carts, though.

Any thoughts on Vermont Vapor's stuff? I figure if I'm going to try different levels, I might as well experiment with different suppliers, too.

Thanks, all, for your advice. No matter what, I am committed to staying off the analogs now!

Gave Vermont Vapor a try at the 35mg strength. Not a bad juice. Solid throat hit and I love the amount of vapor it produces. Even my L88b is a vapor monster tonight! But the 35 is definitely too much nicotine for me, so I cut it by mixing half with a half bottle of Johnson Creek 11mg.

I've been vaping for a couple of hours, off and on, and I have absolutely NO CRAVING for an analog. I have one left, and I think it'll be around for awhile.

I will try a 24mg bottle, next. Ultimately, I suspect that 24 is the level for me.
