The 18490's are both jatoba (one is unfinished). The standard woodvils are oak--the unfinished one has a cocobolo door and the finished one has a wenge door.

You don't muck around Bob, how many Hiwatt amps do you have? I have none myself but have a few other oldies from the 60's (Oz-made ones).

I was thinking with such a nice Reo collection you might have some nice amps, but I wasn't expecting that pic you posted, very nice!
Did you know Rob is also into old (and new) guitars? I believe a 1959 Les Paul is at the top of his wish list.
You probably haven't heard of my amps, I have a Vase 120 Bassman, a Vase Trendsetter 40 and a Vadis 40W Series III, they were all built in Oz in the mid to late 60's, all working fine. The import duties on Fenders (and Marshalls) in those days was so high that it was worth building amps locally. There were quite a few local manufacturers, the Vadis has a similar phase splitter setup to a Hiwatt, and a great sound, its my favorite. See if I can find a pic of the Vase Bassman.

i don't (and most likely never will) have a '59 les paul--but that ES-175 is a '59 and has the orig PAF pickups. a lot of the 175's have been raided over the years for their PAF's (mostly to counterfeit '59 LP's). luckily i'm a jazzmaster guy, which are considerably easier to collect than '50's les pauls.

yeah honestly since got my first woodvil, i've vaped on the aluminum 2.1's very minimally. maybe it's just me--but i feel like the milled RM2's squonk better. i may have to sell my aluminums at some point. they're really cool in their own right, which is why i feel bad about them just collecting dust.
