Yeah, I got the notification on my 2.5 today as well, was a pleasant surprise as like you, I only ordered it yesterday and was taking the 20-25 day processing bit at it's word and about half regretting not going with the blemished V2. Soon I will find out what all the fuss about VV is all about.
For reference I went from various penstyles including a Kissbox for about 6 months before graduating to a Prodigy V1 that I used for about a year and a half then to a Prodigy V3.1 almost 2 years ago. Honestly the V3.1 is still trucking along but I've been having issues finding the 17670 batteries for it with PS being out of stock about half the time I'm interested in getting new ones. Since the 18650s appear to be relatively common (as in I can source them from the local brick and mortar shop) switching to a mod that used them seemed like the right move.
I considered getting one of the cheaper VV or VW mods and toyed briefly with the idea of the evic but my bonus was good and my smokes take a lot of abuse so if I'm going to try a non-mechanical mod the Provari seems like the only real choice. Not to mention one thing I learned in my early E-cig career is that it's better to spend money for a quality mod right out the gate rather than screw around with the cheap stuff. You're going to end up buying the good stuff eventually anyway so you might as well save yourself all the grief and money you were going to waste on crap gear along the way.
Like you, I hope I don't end up regretting the decision, However given the reputation the Provari has I suspect I won't. It's been two years since I wrote my
vaping guide where I expressed my skepticism about the reliability of electronic mods and Provari seems to have weathered the test of time with the only complaints I've ever seen about it being about it's high price or lack of new bells and whistles. As one can probably imagine based on my use of the same basic mechanical mods for the majority of my 4 years of
vaping I'm not exactly concerned about having the state of the art smoke and as I said above I think it's better just to go for quality to begin with rather than waste money on budget crap that's just going to fall apart.
Now I just have to decide whether to try clearomizers or just stick with
tanks and cartos.
