Average "life" is 250 - 300 recharge cycles, based on discharging to the low voltage (3.2?) state. So if you're charging prior to that, it doesn't count as a full recharge. But even if you did, and your battery hits the average, that's 8 to 10 months. When the vape time per charge starts to drop off (assuming the same vaping style and power), then the battery is starting to fade away.

just curious as to how long i can expect to be using an ego twist battery with moderate to heavy vaping? i get a day or two before needing recharge, but i am asking about life of the battery... tyia for any input :)

My experience? Anywhere from a few days to a couple months. I have a problem with egos not making connection with some of my "ego compatible" tanks, especially after a little wear (normal wear, not abuse). The battery pins are cheap and can become "depressed" into the battery after a while, thus making you lose connection.

I am not sure what the manufacturer rates the MTBF (mean time before failure). Honestly, I doubt they spend any money or time even testing for that sort of thing (made in China where there's no quality control and where cutting corners is the MO). If you get lucky, you might be able to get a year out of one if you baby it and treat it as an extremely fragile piece.

I've had two Vision Twists (1100mAh). The first one lasted about a year but showed no signs of going out, didn't have a shortened battery life and didn't provide less power than it should, it just randomly stopped working. The second one lasted only a few months before the battery randomly lasted me about half a day and died, that went on for a couple days and now it barely even fires. I'm hoping it can at least last me for the next few days while I wait for my new battery to come in. I've always topped them off too and never overcharged them, I'm happy about how long the first one lasted but confused about why/how it died. I was really dissapointed in the second one because I bought it from the same website that I got my first one and it didn't even last me 3 months and they refuse to refund me for it, not buying from them ever again.

Don't be too hard on the vendor. Maybe go back and read what they say about guaranty terms. Three months is, ime, way beyond what any of them offer.

I'd guess the switch on your first one bit the bullet, or a soldered connection is going bad. But decent life out of it since it seems from your post that it was in daily use. Repeated drops (hey, let's be honest here, we've ALL dropped 'em now and then! :) ) can be hard on them.

Does illustrate the importance of backup. And backups to those. Personally, I never want to be without the ability to vape. Currently have two tube mods, 6 batteries for them (and two chargers), MVP, VV3 in both Innokin and SLB, 4 Spinners... not to mention the toppers and coils and kanthal...

I know it was out of warranty, most companies have 30 day warranties, but still, if I had it for 3 months and I had it in rotation with my other ego and I was constantly swapping them when the other one was charged and I can only think of less than 5 times that I let it go dead. It's pretty ridiculous that it only lasted a few months and when I asked them about my first one because instead of the light on the charger being red or green it was yellow/orange and they tried to convince me that it was my charger which makes no sense because it still charged my other battery as it should. :/

I bought several ego 1000 mah batteries three years ago and out of 8 only one is dead. One the button stuck closed right away but was still under waranty. I try to rotate my batteries frequently, and they get used 1 out of three days. One thing to watch out for though is to clean the battery connections on both the charger and the battery frequently. If they are dirty, then you won't get a full charge.
