Yeah. The problem that can happen with dual coil cartos is that the upper coil tends to not get enough
e-liquid around it so the filler material around it can burn and get scorched. Once the filler becomes burnt you'll never get that taste removed. In addition, a single laser hole is not enough to properly wick a dual coil - bad idea Smoktech. Whoever designed these must not use them.

Above is a cutaway of a single coil cartomizer. Imagine a dual coil carto having a second coil midway up the cartomizer tube. Even after proper priming, after using the carto for a few puffs the suction of vaping not only pulls juice from the tank, but also from the top of the filler in the cartomizer. See red arrows in the diagram.
The juice in the tank never keeps up to keep all of the filler wet, the top part of the filler will always look dry. And this is normal and doesn't affect a single coil cartomizer because the heating coil is in the lower part of the carto where the wick hole is...keeping the filler around the coil nice and wet. But with a dual coil, the top & midsection of the filler may become dry enough to allow the top coil to burn the surrounding filler.
So, you might think, "I'll just punch a hole higher in the carto...about mid-shaft to keep that top coil wet." Well, as the juice level in the tank falls to half full, that upper hole will be sucking air into the carto instead of juice and you'll have the same problem with dry hits.
Make the switch to single coil cartos and I'll predict you won't have issues with dry hits or burnt taste.
