UD IGO W Clone rebuild question

so I recently decided to get into the whole aspect of vaping that is "chasing clouds", and my first step was to buy a rebuildable atomizer. I purchased the UD IGO W clone (the one without the holes in the posts). After a few tries, all failed, I came to this dual-coil build, using kanthol wire and organic cotton. The problem is that no matter the build (and I've tried different numbers of wraps, single-coils, etc), the vapor it produces is minimal, very hot, and tasteless. Because of that, I won't vape on it, seeing as that seems dangerous and unhealthy. It seems I am doing everything correctly, according to the various tutorials I've seen. So at this point, I'm confused. What am I doing incorrectly? Any advice would be much appreciated. I could take more pics if needed :)
My setup is the Magneto Mechanical mod, and a 1600 mah IMR18650 3.7 V LI-MN battery.

thanks for all the advice guys. i really didn't think proper sized air holes had that much of an effect on the performance. if i were to drill holes on opposite sides, would it make sense to drill smaller holes since there are two?

no matter 1 or 2 holes start small and go up. You can always move to the next drill bit up but putting metal back into place after drilling out with too large of a drill bit is impossible.

they also sell top caps for the igo-w with the holes pre drilled larger.. some frosted clear and other shtuff, just gotta look around a couple places. I've read people round these parts say they own a few top caps with different sized holes, set up for dual and single so they can be interchanged and basically give you an adjustable airflow rda..
