This may seem heresy. Building a custom atty with ody beats any carto.. However, I'm finding, if done right, it almost matches my iO6 experience. Ody wins on cost and short term convenience (i.e. no dripping ).. iO6 wins on durability, and consistency. -- Caveat: in my experience (@ 6v)

Both IMO are game changers.. There is absolutely no reason to buy a cheap atty or carto at this point.

The bottom line question, since I missed out on the expansion order; will that expansion work on with an iO6?

Dude, I've been saying it for two months, I have a thread over at the Ikenvape subforum on how to make your own sleeves (find it yourself, I'm busy!!!). A couple of my buds here on the forum have also seen the light........:thumb:
Well I'm to busy to ready every post on every forum ;).. I saw something about Teflon tape.

Just tell me you're using an iO6 in the Ody expansion and I'll be a happy camper..

So the way I'm reading this..

If I take one of my multitudes of metal cartos, and use a pipe cutter tool (three rollers and a blade), I can use that to compress the carto housing onto the iO6 (sans blade of course) , I can get a good seal? Do I need to put anything between?

You need to crimp the bottom per Ripps instructions. It is then air tight and an awesome vape. Better in UFS than dripping it like I always did.
